Chapter 35 - Annoyed

The tree was enveloped in a bright light and suddenly, it began to change shape.

"Okay, this is taking long," I mused under my breath, watching as she could barely contain her rage from bursting.

"Oh, for goodness' sake, can you be any slower?" I asked as for the next twenty minutes she kept doing it.

Wait.

Don't tell me she's just wasting my time.

I stood up then walked towards her; I manifested a fireball then pointed it at HER.

"If you don't finish this in the next twenty seconds then you will be joining your brethren," I said, and I could see her stiffen slightly.

"1," I said, and she flinched. "Take it," she said in resignation as the light flew towards me. I looked at it, but just as I was about to touch it, my instincts kicked in and I hopped back—luckily, too, as a hand coated in mana had nearly slit my neck.

"Oh… I see how it is," I said, touching my neck.

I could see her pale as a sheet of paper right now.

Well, it seems she used what little mana she had for that attack; too bad it missed.

I used mana enhancement, coating myself in what little mana I had left. I then dashed forward and before she could react, punched her squarely in the face.

"KYA!" She let out a cute yelp and collapsed. I, on the other hand, paid her no mind and instead touched the light. Suddenly, the light flew towards my ear and minimized, and in time it took the form of an earring.

Nice.

But… it's not yet complete.

I looked down and I could see her glaring at me.

'She must think I don't know,' I couldn't help but think.

Though it might seem like I won and the relic is now mine, that is far from the truth. In fact, at this moment, if I were to let my guard down for a second she could steal it and run away, so that then begged the question of how then can I make it mine.

Well, good thing I read the novel.

I bit my index finger and I could see her eyes widen.

"WAIT! NOOOOOOOO!" she screamed, but it was too late. I touched the earring with my blood and suddenly it glowed and turned amethyst.

The earring wasn't that fancy. It was literally just a purple diamond, but it was more thinned and stretched out.

"Good," I smiled, then turned to see her shocked expression. I could literally see dread on her face. "Good day… Fairy, right?" I laughed and began running back to the gate. I only have about ten more minutes before those men come in to find me.

Luckily I remembered the road I came through, so I just followed that same road and, with time, I was at the gates. I approached the gates and, as though sensing someone was there, the gates opened up on their own.

Oh, not on their own; it was one of the men who opened it.

"Name," he said, and I responded, "Ryan." He then nodded, typing something into his relic laptop.

"You may go," he said. I then nodded and went back to the teleportation zone.

There I met a man seated by the counter; I then approached him and paid the whopping sum of 100 points for a ticket back to Sector 1, which was where the Academy was.

Holding the ticket, I walked towards the teleportation device where I met some men who verified my ticket like last time; after that, I walked in.

"Haah," I breathed out, already arriving here.

I felt this cool feeling in my chest, and I could feel my mana regenerating faster than ever.

Boy, this is a fucking cheat.

Good thing I outplayed Lucas.

It was a longer journey back to the dorms but I did manage to make it back before the curfew; however, the dorm master still caught me and I was told some merit points would be deducted from my grading point for missing the day before yesterday's curfew.

Greedy bastards.

They just can't let things go, can they?
