Chapter 1 - Welcome home Katrina

Episode 1: Welcome Home, Katrina

After many years away, Katrina finally returned home. She had been living with her aunt in XXXXX, ever since she started high school. Now that she had graduated, it was time to come back—though her heart felt heavy leaving behind her friends and the woman who had become like a second mother to her.

Katrina was a vision of grace and beauty: big, doll-like light brown eyes that shimmered with warmth, soft plump red lips, and long light-brown hair that flowed all the way to her hips. Wherever she went, people couldn't help but turn and stare.

Her return wasn't just a homecoming; it marked the beginning of a new chapter. She was about to start university, preparing for the day she would take over her father's successful business. Born into wealth, Katrina's life might have looked perfect from the outside—but deep inside, she carried a quiet sadness that not even luxury could erase.

The drive from the airport was long and quiet.

Raindrops tapped against the window as Katrina watched the city she once knew pass by—familiar streets that now felt strangely distant.

Mr. Harry glanced at her through the rearview mirror, noticing her silence.

Mr. Harry: "Your parents have been very busy these days, Miss Katrina. The company has expanded a lot since you left."

Katrina (softly): "I see... that sounds like them."

She gave a faint smile, but her eyes stayed fixed on the window.

Eventually, the car turned into a peaceful and upscale neighborhood, lined with elegant houses and perfectly manicured gardens. Children played under umbrellas, laughing as the rain fell. It looked warm and lively—yet Katrina felt none of it.

Her family's home stood at the end of the street:

a large, beautifully designed fancy house, modern and luxurious, with soft outdoor lights glowing through the rain. It was impressive, yet to her, it felt distant.

Inside, the maids stood neatly to welcome her.

Maid: "Welcome home, Miss Katrina."

Katrina: "Thank you... it's good to be back."

Her footsteps echoed through the wide polished hallway. Everything was just as she remembered—the chandelier, the elegant furniture, the scent of fresh flowers—but there was no warmth. No voice calling her name. No one waiting.

She paused at the base of the staircase and whispered to herself:

"Home... huh."

And in that quiet moment, she understood—

she had missed this place,

but it hadn't missed her back.
