The Obituary System

When the System arrived, Marcus Hale was assigned a Class nobody understood: Obituarist. He can kill any entity by writing its obituary. The rules are absolute. Every word must be true. Every line must be professional. Write one lie, and the death redirects to him instead. Marcus doesn't fight. He witnesses. From his Portland funeral home, he treats every ending with the same care he practiced for twelve years as a mortician. A community forms around him. No warlord dares attack the man who might one day hold their pen. Supported by an Actuary who sees Marcus as an ERROR and a Paramedic who holds death at bay, Marcus begins a thousand chapter journey. He will write the ends of goblins, kings, and eventually the System itself. Marcus will be the one to write the final draft for a universe being harvested. Every word true. Every line fair. He writes the ending. The universe handles the rest.
