"No! Of course I don't." The lie was evident in her voice. Westley frowned in such a way that finally made her speak the truth.
"Fine, you caught me, Mr. Lu. I love the pink dress, it's stunning."
A brief smile appeared on his lips. "Great, I don't need you to reject things from me."
He commented, "The dress is even a perfect match with your hair color. I'm sure it will look exquisite on you."
Evie nodded timidly before regaining her footing as he let go of her waist. She knew the classic pink, stylish dress would mirror the enchanting beauty of her lovely hair.
Westley turned to his side. His gaze fell on a female salesperson meticulously arranging clothes on a nearby rack.
"Excuse me." He called out, pointing at the pink dress in the display window, "Could you please put that in a box for purchase?"
The salesperson, a young woman with a friendly face, looked up from her task. She smiled politely as she approached them.
"Certainly, sir." She answered, briefly glancing at the dress Westley was pointing to.
Moving gracefully towards the display, the young woman unlocked the cabinet and carefully retrieved the dress. After folding it, she placed it inside a delicate, branded box and presented it to Westley.
"Can I help you with anything else, sir? Or is there anything specific you're looking to purchase today?" She asked formally.
"No, thanks. I just need directions to the bridal dress section?" Westley said shortly.
"The bridal dress section is just through that archway," the sales lady said, pointing to a beautifully decorated entrance at the end of the hall.
"Thank you for your help." He said, holding Evie's hand as they both left for the bridal section.
Throughout the stride, Evie's eyes were on Westley. She was completely dumbfounded.
Westley, whom she knew from the rumors, wasn't supposed to be this nice at all, and she knew that she was absolutely the luckiest girl to win his generous affection despite their bumpy meeting. He was going to be her sweet dream come true for six months!
Soon, they arrived at the bridal dress section, as directed by the polite saleslady. Eden and the young salesperson were already waiting. They seemed to be chatting, but fell silent as soon as Westley and Evie walked in.
Finally, the salesperson pointed towards a beautifully lit, expansive section at the other side of the room. "Here we are! Our bridal dress collection." He said.
The luxurious fabrics shimmered under the store lights. Evie's eyes went wide as she took in the rows of wedding dresses. There were fancy ones with sparkly beads, flowy ones with tulle, and sleek ones that looked super elegant. Evie looked overwhelmed by all the pretty dresses.
Westley, observing her subtle excitement, felt a quiet contentment settle within him. While Evie proceeded to pick a wedding dress of her own choice, Westley stayed back, watching her.
"Are there any good makeup artists here?" He requested, turning to face the salesperson, who immediately gave a firm nod.
He replied. "Of course, sir,"
"Get them here. They have work to do." Westley ordered.
The salesperson bustled away to find a makeup artist.
Concurrently, Westley's gaze returned to Evie, who was still searching through the varieties of bridal dresses. Soon after she found one of her likings, she immediately rushed to Westley.
"How do you see this, Mr. Lu?" She asked, holding the dress up and twirling it slightly.
Westley's eyes were fixed on the light blue ball gown she was holding. "It's beautiful." He added, "Go and wait in the dressing room, the makeup artist will soon be here to prepare you for the wedding."
Evie smiled, then headed to the fitting room.
Westley relaxed on a comfy sofa, feeling chill as he wanted to see her after she got dressed for the wedding. He was pretty sure she would look amazing.
Just then, Eden appeared, offering him a hot cup of coffee and his favourite magazine. He inhaled the sweet scent of the coffee, sighed, and took a big sip.
"Master Lu. Should I inform the board and your family about your marriage?"
Westley put down his coffee cup on the small table beside him. He leaned back on the sofa, then slowly turned to Eden.
"Let it be after the wedding." He insisted.
After the wedding...!
Eden couldn't believe his own ears.
He thought that after the marriage registration and an hour break, his master would return to his personal working schedule, which he always took so seriously. He even planned to show up at the board meeting, which was a serious appointment due in the next thirty minutes.
When he even heard his master speaking about looking for the wedding dress section, he was at first confused, but later came to realize that his master's family might suspect the marriage to be a sham because they already expect their Eldest Leader to wed by next week with his ex-fiancée. Eden had thought his master was planning to wed Evie as a replacement for Miss Mo. Perhaps next week, when his schedule was completely clear, and not now, when he was deeply focused on work.
As he was about to remind his master about his working schedule, the young salesperson walked in with three makeup artists following behind with their tools in their grooming box. He immediately gave an excuse before leaving to attend to another customer in the hall.
Eden waited with Westley for the makeup artist to finish. He kept his reminder to himself, knowing his master disliked being disturbed while concentrating on his magazines or anything important.
In the next fifteen minutes, Evie walked out of the fitting room resembling a real-life fairy. Westley, who had been engrossed in the magazine he was reading, suddenly raised his head to see Evie walking towards him.
She looked stunning in the light blue ball gown. A real beauty with skin like snow and bone of jade. Her beauty was way out of this world.
Setting his magazine aside, he rose as she approached him with a slow, gentle stride.
"How do I look, Mr. Lu?" She asked calmly.
"You look more than beautiful." He said sweetly as he took her hand.
Evie giggled.
The next minute, the salesperson walked in and was instantly captivated by Evie's breathtaking appearance. He quickly regained his composure and asked Evie for a few minutes with Westley, who promptly settled the bill for the purchases, makeup, and jewelry before leaving the store.
"I think it's time we throw a tantrum," Evie said, smirking wickedly as she entered the car with the help of Westley, who seemed to be sweeter than before.
