The Watchers moved quickly.
Within minutes the entire street was sealed off.
Large metal barriers surrounded the crater while agents forced everyone to leave the area.
But Kael remained.
The tall Watcher stood beside him, watching the sky.
"My name is Elias," the man finally said.
Kael crossed his arms nervously.
"You said that monster came from another realm."
Elias nodded.
"For centuries the barriers between realms kept our world safe."
He pointed toward the glowing fracture above the city.
"But tonight something broke those barriers."
Kael looked at the strange symbol on his hand.
"And that has something to do with me?"
Elias answered without hesitation.
"Yes."
The symbol suddenly began glowing again.
Brighter than before.
Kael gasped as the ground beneath him trembled.
"What's happening?"
Elias stepped back.
"The mark is reacting."
The air in front of Kael twisted.
Dark energy gathered into a swirling circle.
A portal opened.
But this one looked different.
It was darker.
Colder.
Kael felt a strange pull toward it.
"What realm is that?" he asked.
Elias' expression turned serious.
"The Shadow Realm."
Suddenly something moved inside the portal.
A figure stepped through.
She landed silently on the pavement.
A young warrior dressed in black armor.
Her silver eyes scanned the street.
Then they locked onto Kael.
"So," she said calmly,
"The new Realmwalker has finally appeared."
