Chapter 21 — Echoes From the Void
The chamber grew cold.
The glowing map of the realms trembled in the air as dark energy spread across the image of the Void Realm.
Kael stared at it.
"That can't be good."
The Shadow Council member slowly lowered his hand.
"No… it is not."
Nyra stepped closer to the floating map.
"The Void Realm has been sealed for thousands of years."
Her voice was quiet but tense.
"Nothing should be able to escape it."
The council member's glowing eyes remained fixed on the spreading darkness.
"But something is trying."
The map suddenly pulsed again.
A deep vibration echoed through the chamber.
Kael felt the symbol on his hand react.
The mark began glowing faintly.
"Uh… why is it doing that again?" he asked.
Nyra looked at his hand.
"The Realmwalker's mark reacts to unstable gates."
Kael frowned.
"So you're saying another portal is opening?"
The council member turned toward him.
"No."
His voice dropped to a whisper.
"Something is forcing its way out."
The map shattered into fragments of light.
At that exact moment—
A distant roar echoed across the Shadow Realm.
It was deep.
Ancient.
And far more powerful than the Chaos beast Kael had fought.
Nyra slowly drew her blade.
"That sound…"
Kael looked toward the dark horizon beyond the palace windows.
"What is it?"
The council member answered with a single sentence.
"The Void has awakened."
