Chapter 1 - chapter 1 (The spark within)

The morning mist clung to the village like a veil as Arin walked along the cobblestone path. His hands trembled slightly as he held the amulet that had appeared on his doorstep the night before. It pulsed with a warm, gentle light, almost like it had a heartbeat of its own.

Arin had always been ordinary—helping his mother at the market, training with the village guards, and dreaming of adventures he thought he would never have. But today felt different.

A soft rustle in the forest caught his attention. He froze. Out of the shadows stepped a boy around his age, eyes sharp and calculating, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Finally… you found it," the boy said, his voice calm but edged with danger. "That power… it should have been mine."

Arin's grip on the amulet tightened. The air around him began to hum, small sparks of energy flickering along his fingers. He had no idea what was happening, but instinct told him this was the moment everything would change.

From behind him, a familiar voice called out. "Arin! Be careful!"

It was Lyra, the healer's apprentice. Her eyes were wide with worry as she reached him, her hand brushing against his. "Remember… courage isn't just fighting. It's protecting the people you care about."

Arin swallowed hard. He looked at the boy before him—Kael, the one who wanted to take everything for himself. And then he looked at Lyra, her presence grounding him, reminding him what he was fighting for.

The amulet flared brighter, sending a pulse of energy outward that pushed Kael back a step. Arin felt something awaken inside him—strength, determination, and a spark of hope.

"This is my world," he whispered. "And I won't let anyone take it away."

The battle had begun. Not just for power, but for the people, the love, and the life he had sworn to protect.
