Chapter 10 - The Mirror That Should Not Exist

Lee Eunwoo had a problem.

Actually, he had several problems.

First, he was a mirror.

Second, he was apparently a terrifying cosmic deity feared across the entire continent.

Third, people kept sacrificing things to him, which was deeply inconvenient when you were literally a decorative object hanging on a cave wall.

"System," Eunwoo said in his mind with deep exhaustion, "why do they keep bringing goats?"

[System Notification]

Faith offerings detected.

Devotees of the Reflecting Abyss have increased by +213.

"…That's not an answer."

Outside the cave, torches flickered in the night.

Dozens of armored warriors knelt in front of Eunwoo's mirror.

Their leader, a tall woman with silver armor and sharp eyes, lowered her head reverently.

"Great Lord Speculum Eternis, the Mirror Beyond Reality… we beg for your guidance."

Eunwoo blinked internally.

Speculum… what?

Apparently this was the holy name people had given him.

He personally thought it sounded like a brand of toothpaste.

The armored woman continued.

"Our scouts report that the Demon Kingdom has awakened an ancient beast. We cannot defeat it without your blessing."

Eunwoo panicked.

Why are they asking me??

He was just a guy who used to watch YouTube while eating instant ramen.

Now a medieval army was asking him to help defeat demons.

Surely there had been some misunderstanding.

He checked the System.

[Skill List]

• Reflection (Max Level)

• Ability Replication

• Mana Absorption

• Dimensional Observation

• Divine Aura (Passive)

• Catastrophic Counterforce (Locked)

• Mirror Domain (Locked)

"…Why do half of these sound illegal?"

Outside, the soldiers waited nervously.

The woman raised her head slightly.

"Great Mirror God… if we have displeased you… please forgive us."

Behind her, someone whispered in fear.

"Perhaps we did not bring enough offerings."

Another whispered.

"What if the god destroys us?"

Eunwoo panicked even more.

Destroy them?! I can't even move!

He tried to communicate.

Unfortunately, the only way the system allowed him to interact with the world was through reflections.

So he focused.

A faint ripple appeared on the mirror's surface.

The soldiers gasped.

"IT MOVED!"

"THE DIVINE MIRROR HAS SPOKEN!"

"I DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING!"

"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE UNWORTHY!"

Eunwoo sighed.

This is hopeless.

He focused harder.

The mirror glowed slightly.

The silver-armored woman stared at the reflection.

In the glass, she suddenly saw something impossible.

A vast cosmic sky, filled with endless mirrors floating through space.

At the center of it stood a blindfolded figure, surrounded by shattered reflections.

The woman immediately slammed her forehead into the ground.

"THE GREAT SPECULUM ETERNIS HAS GIVEN US A VISION!"

Eunwoo froze.

Wait, what vision?

He hadn't meant to do that.

He had just been thinking about how confusing everything was.

The soldiers began shouting.

"A prophecy!"

"A divine message!"

"The Mirror God is guiding us!"

Eunwoo felt extremely uncomfortable.

This feels like a misunderstanding that's getting dangerously out of control.

The System chimed again.

[New Ability Unlocked]

Divine Reflection – Level 1

Those who gaze upon you may receive visions influenced by your thoughts.

Eunwoo stared at the notification.

"…You're telling me my random thoughts become prophecies?"

[Correct.]

"That's extremely irresponsible."

Meanwhile, outside, the silver knight stood up.

Her name was Seraphine Valeria, commander of the Radiant Order.

And right now she was convinced she had just spoken with a cosmic deity beyond comprehension.

She raised her sword.

"The Mirror God has shown us the truth."

The soldiers leaned forward.

Seraphine spoke dramatically.

"The demon beast must be defeated by reflecting its own power."

Eunwoo blinked.

Wait… that's actually good advice.

He hadn't even meant it.

Seraphine turned toward the cave.

"Great Speculum Eternis… we thank you."

The army began chanting.

"GLORY TO THE MIRROR GOD!"

"LONG LIVE THE REFLECTION OF ETERNITY!"

"PLEASE DON'T ERASE US FROM EXISTENCE!"

Eunwoo covered his mental face.

Why are they so scared of me…

Suddenly—

BOOOOOOM

The ground shook violently.

The soldiers grabbed their weapons.

A massive shadow appeared over the forest.

Something huge was approaching.

Seraphine narrowed her eyes.

"The demon beast…"

From the trees emerged a monster the size of a castle.

A gigantic wolf covered in burning red runes.

Its eyes glowed like molten lava.

The soldiers trembled.

"That's… impossible."

"That's the Rune Devourer."

"We're dead."

The monster sniffed the air.

Then its gaze slowly moved toward the cave.

Toward Eunwoo.

The mirror vibrated.

[Danger Detected]

[Ancient Beast Identified: Rune Devourer]

[Power Level: Extremely High]

Eunwoo panicked.

Why is it looking at me?!

The Rune Devourer stepped closer.

Then it saw its reflection in the mirror.

And froze.

For a moment… nothing happened.

Then—

The monster let out a terrified howl.

"GRRRRAAAAH!"

It jumped backward violently.

Trees collapsed as the beast retreated several steps.

The soldiers stared in shock.

"What…?"

Seraphine whispered.

"It's afraid…"

The Rune Devourer growled, staring at the mirror.

In its reflection, it didn't see a simple object.

It saw an endless abyss of mirrors.

And in that abyss…

A blindfolded god looking back at it.

The monster whimpered.

Then it turned and ran away.

The forest went silent.

The soldiers slowly turned toward the mirror.

Then every single one of them dropped to their knees.

Seraphine spoke with awe.

"The demon beast fled… just from seeing its reflection before the Mirror God."

Someone whispered.

"We are witnessing divine power…"

Another whispered.

"The legends were true."

Eunwoo stared blankly.

I literally did nothing.

The System chimed happily.

[Achievement Unlocked]

Divine Intimidation

You scared away an ancient monster without trying.

Reward: +500 Faith Energy

Eunwoo sighed deeply.

"…I think my life has become a misunderstanding."

Far above the world, in a floating palace of black stone—

A hooded figure opened glowing eyes.

"The Mirror has awakened…"

Another voice spoke.

"Speculum Eternis has returned."

The first figure smiled darkly.

"Then the age of gods is about to begin again."

Back in the cave—

Eunwoo groaned internally.

I just want to go home and eat ramen.

But somewhere deep inside the mirror…

A strange power stirred.

And far in the future—

The blindfolded form of Eunwoo would walk the battlefield.

Stealing the abilities of gods themselves.

But for now?

He was still just a very confused mirror.

And unfortunately—

The entire world had started to worship him.
