Someone turned the music louder.
A fast song blasted from the speakers and a group of students started dancing near the fire.
Lily reappeared suddenly.
"Autumn!"
"What?"
"Come dance."
"No."
"Yes."
"I don't dance."
"You do tonight."
Lily grabbed her hand and pulled.
Autumn resisted.
"Lily—"
Too late.
She was dragged into the circle of dancing students.
The sand shifted under her feet as people laughed and spun around the fire.
She looked mortified.
Luca stood nearby watching.
And smiling.
"Don't you dare laugh," she warned.
"Wouldn't dream of it."
She pointed at him.
"You're enjoying this."
"A little."
Lily shoved Luca.
"Then dance with her."
Autumn froze.
Luca raised an eyebrow.
"Careful what you suggest."
But Lily had already pushed them together.
Autumn looked up at him helplessly.
"I hate you all."
"Relax," Luca said.
Then he took her hand.
And pulled her into the music.
