Evan held up his hands.
"Relax, man."
Luca didn't look relaxed.
Autumn stood quickly.
"Both of you stop."
The tension between them crackled.
Finally Evan stepped back.
"Whatever," he muttered before walking away.
Luca exhaled slowly.
"You okay?"
"I don't need rescuing."
"I know."
She looked at him.
"Then why did you step in?"
He hesitated.
Then admitted quietly,
"Because I didn't like the way he was looking at you."
