Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – The Siege of Desire

The mansion was alive with shadows, each corner hiding threats. The air buzzed with tension, danger, and something else—something hotter, harder to ignore.

Ethan stood at the center of the grand hallway, Aria pressed close to his side, Sophia almost clinging to the other side. Their breathing mingled with his, hearts hammering in unison.

"Stay behind me," he said, voice low, controlled. Every word a command that made the girls' stomachs twist—fear and something else, desire, jealousy, anticipation.

Aria's green eyes flicked toward Sophia. The way she was leaning in… heat twisted in her chest, sharper than any fear.

Sophia, unaware—or maybe daring—whispered, "I… I trust you, Ethan. Completely."

Aria's jaw clenched. She couldn't deny her own racing heart. The pull toward him was magnetic, impossible to resist.

The Intruders Strike

A shadow burst from the ceiling, landing silently behind Ethan. Another intruder moved from the far corridor.

Ethan's eyes narrowed. "Move!"

He spun, intercepting the shadow mid-lunge, grabbing the attacker by the collar and twisting him into the wall.

Aria stumbled slightly, but Ethan caught her effortlessly, pulling her flush against him.

Heat radiated off him. Her breath hitched. She could feel every muscle under his shirt, every heartbeat.

Sophia gasped beside her, pressing closer. "I… I'd follow you anywhere," she whispered, voice trembling.

Aria's chest tightened with a sharp, painful jealousy. She wanted to scream—but also wanted… him.

Dance of Death

The hallway erupted. Intruders swarmed from every angle.

Ethan moved like a shadow:

He disarmed, flipped, and incapacitated every attacker.

He shielded Aria from knives, bullets, and falling debris.

At one point, he pressed Sophia behind him as a projectile came flying—her breath brushing against his chest.

Sophia's whisper was almost inaudible: "You're… mine, Ethan."

Aria's stomach twisted. "I… I can't let her—"

Her thoughts shattered as Ethan spun, throwing an attacker into the wall. His movement was fluid, controlled, perfect. Every strike radiated danger—and magnetism.

Aria's heart hammered. She realized she didn't just want him to protect her. She wanted him, wanted him here, wanted him closer than anyone else.

The Moment

Amid the chaos, Ethan's eyes flicked to Aria. His expression softened for the briefest moment—a look that made her knees weaken.

Sophia noticed, too, her hands trembling. Jealousy and longing mixed with fear.

Then, from the shadows above, a larger, masked figure dropped directly in front of the girls. The intruder's movements were precise, almost mechanical.

Ethan's body tensed, every instinct screaming danger—but for the first time tonight, his gaze lingered on Aria a fraction longer than on the threat.

The figure lunged.

Ethan's muscles coiled. He moved in a blur—blocking, disarming, protecting—but in the chaos, Aria felt herself almost collide with him, pressed flush against his chest, his strength radiating heat, safety, and something unbearably intoxicating.

Sophia gasped beside them, nearly trembling against him. Aria's green eyes narrowed. She wanted to push her friend away… but the pull toward Ethan was stronger than logic, fear, or anger.

Cliffhanger Ending

The intruder staggered back, wounded but not defeated. He raised a blade high, aiming…

Ethan's dark eyes flared. "Not a step closer!"

A second later, a flash of red light erupted from the intruder's device.

The mansion shook. A deafening alarm echoed through the halls.

Dust rained down. Glass shattered.

Aria screamed. Sophia clung tighter. Ethan moved like a shadow—protecting, striking, dominating—but one figure remained, faster, smarter, and more lethal than anything they had faced tonight.

Ethan's jaw tightened. His gaze locked onto the intruder.

"Someone's going to die tonight," he muttered, low and deadly.

And for the first time, Aria realized—it could be anyone. Her, Sophia… or him.

The mansion had become a battlefield of desire, danger, and obsession.

And the real fight had only just begun.
