The Ice Age
During the Paleolithic period, the world entered a long and brutal Ice Age. Huge glaciers covered large parts of the Earth. Temperatures dropped, forests froze, and many animals disappeared.
For most human species, survival became extremely difficult.
But the Demuman adapted easily.
Their large bodies, thick skin, and powerful strength allowed them to survive the cold much better than other human species. While many tribes struggled to find food, Demuman hunters could track animals across frozen land and capture them with ease.
They became some of the most successful hunters of the Ice Age.
Despite their fearsome appearance, the Demuman were not naturally hostile. They valued honesty and loyalty. Among their kind, lying or betraying another Demuman was considered the worst crime.
Because of this, their tribes were very united and strong.
During this time, several human species lived on Earth, including the Neanderthals and the early Homo sapiens.
But the Ice Age was harsh.
Many Neanderthal groups slowly disappeared as the environment became harder to survive. Their numbers decreased over generations.
Homo sapiens, however, learned to adapt.
At first, humans feared the Demuman because of their size and strange appearance. But over time, some Homo sapiens tribes began to cooperate with them.
Together they hunted large animals, shared fire, and helped each other survive the freezing world.
For a time, both species lived side by side during the Ice Age.
But history would later forget that the Demuman ever existed.
