Chapter 413: A Group Quest Strikes
A full week had passed since Fujiwara Chika and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya both joined the Dimensional Chat Group — seven days in, and the veterans and newcomers alike had already settled into a comfortable familiarity with one another.
Worth noting: three days ago, the chat group had suddenly activated two group quests simultaneously.
These two quests, specifically, were a "Tier 4" quest and a "Tier 2" quest.
Exactly as the names suggested — only Tier 4 members, or Tier 2 members respectively, could actually take part in either one.
Anyone sitting at Tier 5, Tier 6, or even Tier 1, simply had no way in.
This was one of the features rolled out in the chat group's recent major update — group quests now scaled by tier, matching the same six-tier system used for member combat rankings.
Tier 1 quests carried the highest difficulty, Tier 6 the lowest. And, mirroring that, Tier 1 combat strength was the group's absolute peak, Tier 6 the weakest of the weak.
Sure, this meant weaker members couldn't sneak into high-difficulty quests to farm Points anymore, but by the same token, it also meant the group's heavy hitters couldn't swoop in and hog Points from the easier, low-tier quests either.
Not that Point-hogging had ever really been a problem within the group, historically — but before this update, nobody had any way of gauging a given quest's actual difficulty in advance. So, as a matter of course, the group's strongest members had always been the ones sent out to handle things, just to be safe.
Now, with quests properly tiered, that whole dynamic was moot. Overall, a genuinely positive change for the membership as a whole.
And with quests now split by tier this precisely, the trigger frequency had clearly climbed too — otherwise there was no way two group quests could've activated on the very same day.
Kaguya-sama: Finally made it out of that quest, phew, that wasn't easy! Good thing this Tier 2 quest's rewards turned out to be genuinely generous.
Kaguya-sama: Pretty sure after putting these Points toward my growth, I'm not far off from Tier 1 anymore. Feels like just one more push.
Secretary Chika: Kaguya-chan's amazing... meanwhile I can only take part in Tier 6 quests, and even then only the easiest ones within that tier.
Secretary Chika: Makes sense, though — only a week into the group, my strength's still way too low.
Crazy Diamond: I remember Secretary Chika's luck being pretty solid, though — a week in, you've probably banked a few hundred Points by now, right?
Crazy Diamond: Dump a few hundred Points straight into physical training, and taking on a few dozen ordinary humans at once shouldn't be a problem at all.
Edward Newgate: Gurararara! In an ordinary slice-of-life world, taking on a few dozen at once already puts you at the very top of human physical prowess.
Admiral Kizaru: With Chika-chan getting some help from Kaguya on top of that, getting stronger shouldn't be too hard at all.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya: ...My first group quest, and I nearly lost my life out there.
The Ancient One: Oh? Our newcomer took part in a group quest already? Was that the Tier 2 one?
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya: Yes, gave it a shot — nearly died in the process.
Kaguya-sama: Our newcomer's just not used to fighting underwater yet, that's all. A bit more practice in the Arena should sort that out.
Kaguya-sama: Come to think of it, though — our newcomer's this ridiculously strong, but her combat experience is this thin? Feels like even Umaru's got more actual fighting experience than her at this point.
My True Form Is Cola: Meow meow meow? Since when did adorable little me become a unit of combat measurement?
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya: Probably because I've rarely had to actually fight before... lesson learned this time. I'll work on that going forward.
Hero for Fun: No supermarket discount sales this whole week. Genuinely worried, my wallet's about to give out.
Street-Corner Illustrator: Pfft, Sensei Saitama's this ridiculously strong and still worried about money?
Hero for Fun: I'm broke, okay! If only some edible monster would show up.
RawrSoFierce: That reminds me, actually — didn't Saitama eat a monster at some point in canon? Some kind of seaweed-headed one?
Hero for Fun: No, that's not true, I never — ahem! Look, I just plucked the seaweed off that guy's head, that's all. Wasteful not to, honestly.
Terrible Tornado: Wait, monsters are edible? I just took down an octopus-type one — those tentacles seem like they'd make good teppanyaki.
My True Form Is Cola: An octopus monster? Wasn't that supposedly the legendary Big C?
Terrible Tornado: Who's "Big C"?
My True Form Is Cola: Cthulhu! A giant tentacled octopus thing — at least according to the books.
RawrSoFierce: If it really was Cthulhu, little Tornado might not have actually won that fight.
My True Form Is Cola: Come to think of it, aren't all of us basically Cthulhu-tier entities to our own home worlds' reality, honestly?
RawrSoFierce: Not quite the same, though there's definite overlap — the overlap being, yeah, we're all pretty absurdly strong.
Eternally Seventeen: Genuinely lost here... what exactly are you two even talking about?
My True Form Is Cola: Yukari-senpai, you should go check out some Cthulhu Mythos stuff sometime — you'll get it once you read some!
Eternally Seventeen: Cthulhu? There's a whole genre of novels about that?
My True Form Is Cola: Emmm... might not exist over in your world, actually. No worries, I'll just upload some to Group Files for you.

Watching the chat scroll by, Ryū shook his head, resigned, and was just about to go find something to eat when —
A sudden "ding" chimed from the Dimensional Chat Group in his head, and a group quest notification popped up out of nowhere.
Of course, this particular notification was only visible to him as Admin, and to the group's two moderators.
Another group quest?
Ryū's expression shifted, mildly startled. He remembered clearly — just three days ago, two group quests had activated at once.
And now, three days later, here was yet another one. Had the trigger frequency really gone up this much?
What genuinely caught him off guard, though, was the quest's designation: Tier 1. Meaning only the group's Tier 1 members could take part.
And the group's Tier 1 roster wasn't exactly small — Ryū, Yukari, the Ancient One, Tatsumaki, Whitebeard, Wandering Earth, Tohru, Wolffy, and more all sat comfortably in that bracket.
"A quest the system itself rates as Tier 1 — that difficulty's not going to be low. Another serious fight ahead, it seems. Wonder whose world's about to have a genuinely bad day this time."
Just as Ryū reached to screenshot the quest details and tag the whole group, he noticed Tatsumaki had already beaten him to it, screenshot posted and everyone tagged.
Seeing that, he gave up on doing it himself and simply turned his attention to the quest's actual contents.
