Chapter 415: Saitama's Excitement

RawrSoFierce: Anyone else want in on this quest? If not, I'll lock in the roster now...

Roar of the Evil Dragon: Was supposed to go bra shopping with Kobayashi today, unfortunately — would've joined otherwise.

Wandering Little Planet: Currently deep in spirit-body training — feels like I'll finally pull it off in about another month.

RawrSoFierce: Emmm... in that case, roster's locked: me, Saitama, and Tatsumaki.

Eternally Seventeen: Just realized Admin-sama somehow ends up on every single group quest. This is clearly some kind of backroom manipulation — this sharp-eyed youkai sage has seen straight through the whole scheme!

My True Form Is Cola: Wait, hold on! If Admin-sama really could rig these behind the scenes, wouldn't that mean he has total control over the entire Dimensional Chat Group?

My True Form Is Cola: Which would mean Admin-sama really is the secret mastermind who created the Dimensional Chat Group in the first place!

My True Form Is Cola: This clever, adorable Umaru has seen through it all too.

RawrSoFierce: ...You two have genuinely impressive imaginations. Feels like a waste you're not helping Eriri with her manga.

RawrSoFierce: @Hero for Fun, @Terrible Tornado, your crossing permissions are now open. @I'm Rolling In It, @The Ancient One, though I'll still need approval from you two, since you're the Marvel-world members here.

The Ancient One: Already approved on my end — just waiting on Tony Shitdacoal now.

I'm Rolling In It: Hey, hey, hold on, Ancient One, don't just slap some bizarre nickname on me out of nowhere!

I'm Rolling In It: "Shitdacoal"... what kind of nickname is that?! Uncle Tony wants absolutely nothing to do with it!

I'm Rolling In It: Anyway, for the record, Uncle Tony's already approved too — feel free to cross over whenever. Guess it's fight time again. Better grab a cheeseburger first, need the energy.

The Ancient One: Eating like that every day, you'll turn into a fat man eventually.

I'm Rolling In It: Not a problem — I've actually put Points into physical conditioning. A cheeseburger's not going to pack on the pounds.

Kaguya-sama: Mr. Stark's basically the type now where you could blow his Iron Man armor to pieces and he'd still tear a Gundam apart with his bare hands.

Street-Corner Illustrator: Tearing apart a Gundam bare-handed, sure — Mr. Stark, are you positive you haven't wandered off your original character concept somewhere?

I'm Rolling In It: How could I possibly wander off it? Physical conditioning plus technology — that's exactly what brings out Uncle Tony's true maximum potential.

I'm Rolling In It: Used to worry the armor's output would be too much for my own body to handle. Not a concern anymore these days.

I'm Rolling In It: Speaking of which, Admin, are you all using my location as the crossing coordinate, or the Ancient One's?

RawrSoFierce: Yours — you're in New York right now, aren't you? The Avengers 1 battle took place in New York.

"..."

Once he'd changed into something suitable for heading out, Ryū silently willed himself across, and his figure vanished in an instant.

When he next appeared, he was standing atop the roof of a skyscraper in the Marvel world.

The building belonged to Stark Industries — Tony Stark, the resident filthy-rich playboy, kept a residence at the very top of this exact tower.

It also happened to be one of Stark's primary labs for developing his Iron Man armor, given the sheer amount of energy the building had on tap — courtesy of a massive Arc Reactor housed somewhere inside.

The moment Ryū appeared on the rooftop, a familiar voice greeted him. "Oh? Mr. Admin's here already? Looks like we're just waiting on Saitama and little Tatsumaki now."

He turned and spotted a bald hea— well, all right, spotted the Ancient One, standing nearby, apparently having arrived some time before him.

Made sense — her mirror-space magic functioned practically identically to instant teleportation, so getting to Tony Stark's rooftop had posed her no real challenge at all.

Beside her stood an unmistakably flashy Tony Stark, greeting Ryū enthusiastically. "Admin! Been a while, hasn't it!"

"Huh? That's what crossing over feels like? Kind of... well, honestly, didn't feel like much of anything."

An unfamiliar voice piped up, and another bald head appeared — this one belonging to a man, and one whose sheer strength operated well outside the bounds of reason.

Moments later, the last member of the party — Tatsumaki — arrived as well.

Which meant all five members tapped for this quest had now gathered in one place. Setting Tony Stark aside, every other member present sat comfortably in the chat group's own Tier 1.

Four Tier 1 heavy hitters plus one Tier 3 — a lineup like that, dropped into the Marvel Cinematic Universe specifically, would functionally be unstoppable. Anything and anyone standing in their way, gone.

The film-verse of the Marvel world, after all, ran considerably weaker than its comic-book counterpart — plenty of characters who could casually blow up stars on the page ended up getting taken down by an ordinary bomb on screen.

Saitama's gaze swept curiously across their surroundings — of the five people present, he was the only one who'd never crossed over into another world before now.

This marked his very first crossing, and, naturally, the novelty of it all left him genuinely fascinated.

That fascination didn't last long, though, since the Marvel world and his own One Punch Man world were both modern, technologically developed settings.

Sure, small details differed here and there, but the broad strokes felt close enough to home.

Dressed in his signature red-and-yellow bodysuit, Saitama asked, curious, "Mr. Admin, the enemy hasn't shown up yet?"

Ryū shook his head. "Doesn't look like it, no. Might be a bit of a wait. Not sure if this alien army's going to drop in from over New York like it does in canon."

"If they don't show up above New York specifically, we'll just need to relocate. There's a transmigrator mixed in with the enemy force this time, after all — no telling what kind of butterfly effect that might cause."

Saitama nodded thoughtfully at that, his shining bald head practically catching the light, his eyes lit up with unmistakable excitement.

In his own One Punch Man world, after all, he stood essentially unmatched — nothing left there capable of getting his blood pumping anymore.

Only the Dimensional Chat Group's Arena had managed to give him a genuinely satisfying fight in ages — he'd already died over a dozen times inside it, reviving each time with Points.

And this quest's enemy... presumably matched roughly the same caliber as whatever he'd been fighting in the Arena, didn't it?

The thought alone left Saitama even more pumped up than before, his eyes practically lighting up on their own.
