A few hours had passed since Jay woke up.
She was still in the hospital bed.
But the doctors had adjusted the bed so she could sit up slightly.
Her face still looked pale.
Bandages wrapped around her stomach.
But she was awake.
And that alone made everyone happy.
Ella, Freya, Grace, Rakki and Percy had finally been allowed inside the room.
The moment they entered…
Freya dramatically wiped imaginary tears.
"Our heroine finally woke up."
Jay smiled weakly.
Rakki walked closer and looked at her carefully.
"You scared the life out of us."
Grace hugged her gently.
"Don't ever do that again."
Jay laughed softly.
"I'll try."
Then suddenly Ella crossed her arms.
Looking at Keifer.
Who was sitting quietly beside Jay's bed.
Ella spoke loudly,
"Actually… we need to complain."
Jay blinked.
"Complain?"
Freya immediately joined.
"Yes."
"About this idiot."
She pointed at Keifer.
Keifer frowned.
"What did I do?"
Rakki snorted.
"What didn't you do?"
Jay looked confused.
"What are you talking about?"
Ella turned back to Jay.
"This man didn't eat."
Jay frowned.
Freya continued dramatically,
"He didn't sleep."
Grace added softly,
"He didn't even drink water properly."
Percy shook his head.
"He sat outside like a crazy person."
Rakki laughed.
"And cried like a baby."
Jay slowly turned her head toward Keifer.
Her expression changing.
"Is that true?"
Keifer looked away immediately.
"They're exaggerating."
Freya gasped.
"We are not!"
Ella nodded seriously.
"He literally sat outside the ICU staring at the door for 24 hours."
Jay's eyes widened.
She looked at Keifer again.
"You didn't eat?"
Keifer mumbled quietly,
"I wasn't hungry."
Jay's eyebrows furrowed.
"You didn't sleep?"
Keifer shrugged slightly.
Jay stared at him in disbelief.
Then she suddenly looked angry.
"Keifer!"
Everyone in the room went silent.
Jay pointed at him weakly.
"You're impossible."
Keifer blinked.
"What?"
Jay grabbed the food tray that the nurse had left earlier.
She picked up a spoon.
"Open your mouth."
Keifer looked confused.
"What?"
Jay glared at him.
"Open."
The others watched the scene with amusement.
Keifer sighed quietly.
But he obeyed.
Jay fed him the spoonful of food.
Freya immediately burst out laughing.
"Look at this!"
Rakki clapped dramatically.
"The patient is feeding someone."
Grace giggled softly.
"This is unbelievable."
Percy shook his head.
"Everyone is taking care of Jay."
Ella laughed.
"And Jay is taking care of Keifer."
Jay ignored them completely.
She fed him another spoon.
"If you faint now, I'm not saving you again."
Keifer looked at her quietly.
A small smile appearing on his face.
Freya teased loudly,
"Aww look at them."
Rakki added,
"This is the weirdest hospital scene ever."
Ella laughed.
"The patient scolding the healthy person."
Jay rolled her eyes.
But she continued feeding Keifer.
And for the first time in days…
The hospital room filled with laughter again. 💙
