Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: System mission

Chapter 2: System Missions

"What kind of points system is this? I think you should be called the 'I'll Die System'. Completing a mission only gives a hundred points? Are you treating me like a beggar? The good stuff in the mall costs a fortune in points; how am I supposed to make a name for myself relying on points?" Tensei directly cursed at the system.

The Uchiha are currently divided into two factions. One is the Martial Faction led by the Great Elder; they are die-hard fans of Uchiha Madara. The Great Elder's strength is equal to the Clan Head's, but unfortunately, he had too few supporters and missed out on the position of Clan Head.

Madara was, after all, once the Clan Head, so it's normal to have some loyalists. It's a pity that when Madara originally wanted to lead the clan away from Konoha, most of the Clan Members disagreed, so he could only leave alone. Although the Martial Faction was willing to follow Madara, Madara did not take them with him.

The other faction is the Moderate Faction led by the current Clan Head—who was also the former Great Elder—Uchiha Seiyou. They very much enjoy the peaceful life in Konoha, which is why they rejected Madara back then.

The Martial Faction only numbers about a hundred people, while the Moderate Faction has thousands. Although the Martial Faction is small in number, their combat power is formidable. They are a society of soldiers where everyone, whether elderly or female, is a Ninja, except for the children who can't walk yet. Although their collective strength is high, aside from the Great Elder, they lack top-tier combat power in their lower ranks.

The Moderate Faction is different. Although they aren't all soldiers like the Martial Faction, they win through numbers. Furthermore, they have the Clan Head at their helm—the true person in charge of the clan—and their top-tier combat power also exceeds that of the Martial Faction. Besides the Clan Head, there is also Uchiha Kagami, who was taken as a disciple by Senju Tobirama.

From what he knew, this Uchiha Yo belonged to the Moderate Faction. Although he was also a Genin, he wasn't an ordinary one but an Elite Genin, infinitely close to becoming a Chunin.

With Tensei's strength as an ordinary Genin, he was simply no match for Uchiha Yo. The more Tensei thought about it, the angrier he became.

"Damn system, do you really want me to kick the bucket that early? If you want me finished, just wipe me out directly. Why issue a mission? Are you trying to humiliate me?" Tensei had just finished cursing when the system's voice rang out.

[Ding! Beginner Gift Pack being distributed. The host may choose one A-rank or below Ninjutsu, or choose to unlock the One-Tomoe Sharingan.]

Looking at the Beginner Gift Pack issued by the system, Tensei cursed directly, "The system really needs a scolding. If I didn't curse at you, were you not planning to give me the beginner pack? Hmph! I'm mad."

After cursing, Tensei looked directly at the gift pack. Seeing the options, Tensei decisively gave up on the A-rank Ninjutsu. "Forget the high-level Ninjutsu. With my meager amount of Chakra, I wouldn't be able to cast it even if I learned it. Giving up on this one decisively."

He then looked at the other choice. "The One-Tomoe Sharingan isn't bad. It can improve insight, which is a significant boost to my current strength."

Just as he was about to choose the One-Tomoe Sharingan, he saw the exchange price in the mall, and Tensei was instantly fuming.

"Damn system, the exchange price for a One-Tomoe Sharingan is only a hundred points! I could totally just do a mission and exchange for it myself. This isn't a 'one out of two' choice at all; it's clearly just giving away one Ninjutsu below A-rank. Come out here and see if I don't beat you up!" After Tensei finished cursing, the system didn't pay him any mind at all.

Seeing the system remain silent, Tensei hesitated repeatedly before finally choosing the Ninjutsu most suitable for him right now. "System, I choose the C-rank Ninjutsu: Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique."

The moment he made the choice, he completely mastered the Great Fireball Technique. Suddenly, he felt as if he had practiced it for many years, understanding all the various release techniques.

"This Ninjutsu can be said to be the most suitable for me right now. With my current Genin-level Chakra, I can use it at most three times. As long as I can seize an opportunity to hit Uchiha Yo, this mission can be completed. The first mission must be finished perfectly." Tensei clenched his fists.

As for hand signs, because there wasn't much else to learn over the years, Tensei spent most of his time practicing them. Now, his hand sign speed could almost rival that of the adult Kakashi.

Time passed slowly as Tensei sat at home quietly waiting for Uchiha Yo to arrive.

Half an hour.

One hour.

Three hours.

Five hours.

Seeing that it was already dark outside, Tensei finally couldn't sit still anymore.

"System, what on earth are you doing? Didn't you say Uchiha Yo would come looking for trouble? It's already dark and he hasn't shown up. You're playing with me, aren't you?"

"Don't think I'll let you off just because you're staying quiet. I'm telling you, I'll keep cursing you regardless." Tensei went straight into trash-talk mode. After spraying the system for ten minutes, Tensei finally stopped. He was so thirsty from shouting, yet the system didn't utter a single word.

"Damn! You really can endure. Fine, system, you win. I'll go out and see what's actually going on." Tensei drank a glass of water and walked out of the house. After wandering aimlessly nearby for a while, he finally discovered the problem.

"No wonder that Uchiha Yo didn't come. This edge of the territory where my house is—forget people, there isn't even a dog here. I never paid much attention to this crappy place before, but there's way too little foot traffic here."

After finishing his complaints, he began to walk slowly toward the more crowded areas. Just as he approached a busy spot, Tensei spotted his target. "Uchiha Yo, so you're here. No wonder I couldn't wait for you."

"Since you won't come to me, I'll deliver myself to your door." Saying this, Tensei slowly walked toward Uchiha Yo's vicinity, not sparing him a single glance the entire time.

Uchiha Yo also noticed Tensei at this moment. Looking at Tensei, a wicked smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. "You jinx, watch how I deal with you." Thinking this, he walked straight toward Tensei. Although the adults had told him not to go near Tensei, he didn't care at all.

A trash Young Clan Head who had lost his status, lacked strength, and was essentially under house arrest—this was simply the best target to bully.

The two walked toward each other simultaneously, acting as if they didn't know one another. Just as they were about to pass each other, Uchiha Yo tilted his body and directly bumped into Tensei.

"Oh, isn't this our Young Clan Head, Uchiha Tensei? Oh, wait, it should be the 'former' Young Clan Head. How are you so free to come out for a stroll today?" Uchiha Yo said to Tensei in a sarcastic tone.

"What exactly do you want to say?" Tensei glared at him. He wanted to see exactly how this Uchiha Yo was going to stir up trouble.

"What do I want to say?! It's because of your father that our clan was driven from the center of the Village to this corner by Hokage-sama! If it weren't for your father, we Uchiha wouldn't have lost the position of Second Hokage. All of this is because of your father!"

"You have the nerve to ask what I want to say? And you're still acting so arrogant? I'm going to give you a good lesson today, you waste!" After saying that, he threw a punch directly at Tensei.

Watching Uchiha Yo's sudden attack, Tensei tilted his body and dodged it. The moment he dodged, Tensei turned and threw a kick at him, but Uchiha Yo's Taijutsu wasn't bad either and he dodged it directly.

Fists and feet clashed, and for a moment, the two were actually evenly matched. Seeing that he couldn't gain an advantage, Uchiha Yo pulled out a Kunai and threw it at Tensei.

The Kunai hit Tensei, and Uchiha Yo was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected it to be so easy. At that moment, the 'Tensei' that was hit turned into a log with a 'poof'.

Uchiha Yo immediately realized he had been tricked. Just as he was about to make a move, a Kunai was pressed against his neck, and Tensei's voice slowly drifted over.

"You lost."

With a Kunai at his neck, Uchiha Yo didn't show the slightest panic. He said calmly,

"I knew it wouldn't be that easy to get you, but don't think I'm that simple either."

With a 'poof', Uchiha Yo also turned into a log.

The two then engaged in battle again. Gradually, Tensei began to fall into a disadvantage. After all, the opponent was an Elite Genin while he was just an ordinary Genin. He was fine for a short duration, but he couldn't keep up as time went on.

An Anbu member monitoring Tensei asked the person beside him, "Captain, they're fighting openly in the Village. Should we intervene?"

"Intervene for what? It's just kids playing around. Look, that Uchiha Tensei is already at a disadvantage. Anyway, it's just Uchiha dog-eat-dog; what does it have to do with us?"

"It's best if that Uchiha Tensei gets beaten up. That way we can report back to Hokage-sama. Besides, Hokage-sama doesn't like him anyway," the Anbu captain said dismissively.

"This... this might not be right, Captain."

"What's not right about it? Just watch."

...

While the Anbu were chatting, as time went on, the situation became increasingly unfavorable for Tensei. He began to dodge while looking for an opportunity to release his Ninjutsu.
