Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – The Woman I Chose

After leaving Kalimantan, I returned to my village and decided to start my own small business.

The beginning was not easy.

For the first few months, the shop was quiet.

Some days I earned almost nothing.

But I kept going, believing that patience would change my future.

Six months later, things slowly began to improve.

Customers started coming regularly.

Little by little, my business grew stronger.

For the first time in my life, I was able to help my parents financially.

I even helped repair their house.

People in the village began to look at me differently.

I was no longer just the poor kid from a struggling family.

Now they respected me.

And that was when another chapter of my life quietly began.

One day, a beautiful girl came to my shop as a customer.

Her name was Ani.

She was beautiful, simple, and humble.

Just like me, she also came from a poor family.

We started talking more often.

What began as simple conversations slowly turned into something deeper.

Before I realized it, we were in a relationship.

But life is never that simple.

Around the same time, I also met another woman.

She was even more beautiful—

the niece of an important village official from a wealthy family.

Suddenly, my life placed me between two very different worlds.

One woman had wealth and status.

The other had simplicity and sincerity.

And strangely, even more girls started showing interest in me.

Maybe because my life had changed.

Maybe because people started seeing me differently.

At one point, I felt surrounded by choices.

But deep inside my heart, I already knew the answer.

My heart always returned to Ani.

Even though problems started appearing.

The niece of the village official once caught me with Ani.

Rumors began to spread.

Ani became suspicious and jealous.

Arguments started to happen.

But despite everything, there was something stronger than the rumors, the jealousy, and the attention from other women.

In the end, I made my choice.

Among all the women who entered my life…

Ani was the one I chose to walk beside me.

And at that moment, I believed my life was finally moving toward a peaceful future.

But I didn't know yet…

that the real test of our relationship had not even begun.

Ending Moral

Sometimes life gives many choices.

But the right choice is not about beauty, wealth, or status.

It is about the person who stays with you through the hardest moments.
