Passion.
Lincoln has not lacked it lately, but in all this eternal happiness, he has still managed to get bored with the routine in which he has allowed himself to be trapped.
Lucy was truly intrigued by the text message she received from her boyfriend, inviting her to meet him in the school gym. Walking with a light step, the young Loud ignored the numerous stares directed at her and her figure, which made the boys swoon, seeing them as nothing more than dogs drooling over a steak. At least, that's how the brunette saw them ever since her secret boyfriend had severely punished them for approaching him with caveman-like behavior.
Smiling sweetly at the memory of her lover facing twelve rabid dogs, the young woman was a little disconcerted when she arrived in the gymnasium. A small group of students were watching something interesting, it seemed. Although the years had become beneficial to her body, Lucy never understood why she remained shorter than the others.
Probably a joke from the universe.
Climbing onto the bleachers like a cat, Lucy was now seated at the top to watch a spectacle that naturally caught her eye. Seeing two students face off in a fencing duel would certainly have her approval, as she found the sport elegant.
Then, her eye catches a detail that makes her smile lovingly. On the shoulder of one of the fighters is a black armband with flying red petals.
The point of his sword touched his enemy's shoulder, and the Rose Fencer elegantly removed his mask, revealing to all the sweaty but smiling face of Lincoln Loud. He made a few cuts before him and bowed to his one true love, who slowly descended the stands to reach him. Arms crossed, a lingering blush on her face, the young woman gazed at her lover's body.
"Where did this idea come from?" she asks in a low tone just to keep the conversation intimate with Lincoln, who smiles more broadly.
"I thought we needed something to let off steam together without it being misinterpreted," he replied, then narrowing his eyes with a more playful smile. "And besides, with this, we can settle our little quarrels, my lady."
"Oh? Do we have a quarrel?" she asks humorously as her boyfriend's former adversary gives her his sword and helmet.
"Yes." He takes three steps back before grasping his fencing helmet with his fingertips. "Are we going to learn the tango or the waltz?"
A flash of happiness crosses the eye of the Loud of darkness, who gets on guard, pointing the tip of her sword towards the white-haired young man who smiles with all his teeth.
"If I must earn my right to waltz by the sword," she said, lowering the helmet over her face, "then so be it!"
That day, Lucy learned that the waltz and the tango were nothing compared to the feeling of dancing with a sword, and that no dance in this world was as alive as theirs.
Lincoln and Lucy dance on the forbidden, and it will always be so.
