The Unexpected Proposal
Lina was still standing in the hotel lobby. Her heart was still beating fast.
The man she had just met made her feel strangely uneasy.
She took a deep breath.
"Maybe I'm just overthinking," she whispered to herself.
Suddenly, the hotel doors opened loudly.
Several men rushed inside. Their faces looked serious, as if they were searching for someone.
Lina felt nervous.
She slowly stepped back.
Then—
"Come with me."
A cold voice spoke from behind her.
Lina turned around.
It was the same man again.
Adrian Black.
He stood there calmly, as if everything around him was under his control.
"What?" Lina asked in surprise.
Adrian looked at her. His expression didn't show any emotion.
"If you stay here, they will find you," he said quietly.
Lina frowned.
"Find me? Who are they?"
Adrian didn't answer.
Instead, he grabbed her hand and quickly led her down a hallway.
Lina was confused.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked.
Adrian didn't stop.
After a few moments, they reached a quiet room.
Adrian opened the door and stepped inside.
Then he looked at Lina and said,
"I want to make you a proposal."
Lina blinked in confusion.
"What kind of proposal?"
Adrian stayed silent for a moment.
Then he spoke calmly—
"Marry me."
Lina thought she heard it wrong.
"What?!"
But Adrian's face was completely serious.
He repeated,
"Marry me… tonight."
