Chapter 5 - Conflict and Separation

Chapter 9: A Love That Was Not Accepted

For a few months, life felt perfect for Ariana and Arman.

They spent their afternoons together in the university garden and evenings talking in the library of the campus in Kolkata.

Ariana continued writing her stories while Arman encouraged her to follow her dream of becoming a novelist.

"You'll be famous one day," Arman often said.

Ariana would smile and reply, "Then you'll be the first person I dedicate my book to."

But happiness rarely lasts forever.

One evening Arman returned home late.

His father, Mr. Rahman, was waiting in the living room.

His expression was cold and serious.

"Where were you?" he asked.

"At the university," Arman replied.

"With that girl?"

Arman froze.

"How do you know about her?"

Mr. Rahman placed a file on the table.

"I know everything about her. Ariana Malik. Middle-class family. No influence. No status."

Arman's voice became firm.

"She's not just 'that girl'. She's someone I love."

His father's eyes darkened.

"You will forget about her."

"No."

That single word made the room silent.

Mr. Rahman stood up slowly.

"You are the son of the Rahman family. Your future is not yours to decide."

Arman clenched his fists.

"For the first time in my life, I'm deciding something for myself."

Chapter 10: The Impossible Choice

The argument between Arman and his father grew worse over the next few days.

Mr. Rahman had already planned Arman's future.

He wanted him to study business abroad and later marry the daughter of one of the richest businessmen in the city.

Love had no place in his plans.

One night, he gave Arman an ultimatum.

"You will leave for business school in London next week," he said.

Arman was shocked.

"What about my life here? My studies? Ariana?"

Mr. Rahman's voice was cold.

"Forget her."

Arman shook his head.

"I can't."

His father looked directly into his eyes.

"If you stay with that girl, you will lose everything—your family, your inheritance, your future."

Arman felt trapped.

For the first time, he didn't know what to do.

That night he walked through the silent streets of Kolkata, thinking about Ariana.

He loved her.

But he also knew his father would never accept their relationship.

Chapter 11: The Goodbye She Never Heard

A few days later, Ariana waited for Arman in the university library.

He had promised to meet her.

But hours passed.

And he never came.

Ariana checked her phone again and again.

No message.

No call.

Meanwhile, at the airport of Kolkata, Arman stood silently near the boarding gate for his flight to London.

His father stood beside him.

"Forget the past," Mr. Rahman said.

But Arman's mind was somewhere else.

With Ariana.

He took out his phone.

He wanted to call her.

To explain everything.

But he knew that hearing her voice would make it impossible for him to leave.

So he made the hardest decision of his life.

He turned off his phone.

And boarded the plane.

Back at the university, Ariana finally realized something was wrong.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

Arman never returned.

No explanation.

No goodbye.

Only silence.

And in that silence, Ariana's heart slowly broke.

But she didn't know one thing.

Their story was not over yet.

Years later, fate would bring them together again.
