Chapter 244 - Chapter 244 : Handing Out a "Brahmin"

Harry's original plan for contacting and managing the Inhumans wasn't actually like this; he had initially thought about letting them integrate into society as much as possible, having them adapt to external systems, and managing them that way.

However, after arriving in Nepal, Harry thought of a problem: the Inhumans' caste system could be said to be innate—a social hierarchy that was almost impossible to change. Several factors contributed to their factual "caste system."

First was the scarcity of terrigen crystals; second was whether an individual had the potential for transformation; and third was that they belonged to an extremely closed-off small society, lacking many social functions.

Ordinary people were undoubtedly at the lowest level in their tribes, and because they had almost no production or research capabilities, it was also difficult for them to find a suitable place in such a society. In other words, there was a shortage of jobs.

To stand out in their society, one had to possess the potential for transformation—this was the second tier.

Even with the potential for transformation, due to the scarcity of terrigen crystals, they had to gain the approval of the upper class to obtain the crystals for transformation—this was the first tier.

Transformed Inhumans were the highest tier. They needed to be born with potential and then obtain permission from those in power to get the necessary resources. They had unchangeable class characteristics from birth, and then hierarchy differentiation brought by resource allocation issues, plus the specialization brought by different superpowers. These points formed their unique social system.

For these people who had received Inhuman education since childhood, Harry forcing them to integrate into international society might instead cause them to harbor resentment.

Just like when Britain colonized India, the colonizers wanted to impose their own set of operating rules on India, dividing classes according to gender, religion, industry, and so on, to facilitate better management.

However, the Indians didn't appreciate it at all; they wanted to be divided by caste.

Deep down, these Inhumans didn't want to accept Harry's census or integrate into the outside society. Superpower politics were just fine: ordinary people, unawakened Inhumans, awakened Inhumans, and so on—clearly layered and orderly.

So Harry thought it over: fine, I'll just hand out a Brahmin status to you then.

And just like that, their attitude softened instantly. Besides, they were already fearful of the dark muzzles of the guns; the "Prophet" stepping stone came at just the right time.

"If you are willing to believe in me, stand on this side. I will be responsible for you." Raina stepped forward and bowed slightly toward the crowd of Inhumans.

The Inhumans only hesitated for a moment before walking over to Raina's side under the gaze of the Riflemen, forming a long line.

The townsfolk calmed down, the Riflemen began counting heads, and Coulson led his people to start registering information.

Seeing this scene, Jiaying's eyes nearly popped out of her head. Even at this moment, she still firmly believed that humans were untrustworthy—especially Harry Osborn!

She wanted to do something, but Harry naturally wouldn't give her the chance. A bullet containing cobra venom was fired into her body, making her lose consciousness completely.

Skye watched blankly as her mother was also arrested, looking as if she had lost her soul.

"How do you plan to handle her?"

Harry glanced at his employee, thinking that Skye was quite unlucky to have both parents captured in a single day—especially her mother, since this was only the first day they had met.

But in Harry's view, compared to Calvin Johnson, Jiaying couldn't be considered a good mother. In the TV show, she had almost killed Skye, and it was only thanks to Johnson choosing righteousness over family that his daughter was saved.

Comparing the two: Jiaying started an unwise war out of fear, and even her daughter couldn't talk her out of it; Johnson went mad with regret, but eventually regained his sanity because of Skye.

The suffering brought by HYDRA turned both of them into extremists, but Johnson managed to pull back.

From this perspective, Harry was more willing to give Johnson a chance. As for Jiaying, he would see how she performed in prison.

"She'll be locked up in a cell. I won't slice her up alive, so you can take your time getting to know her—and your father."

From a legal standpoint, those Jiaying took out were mostly Riflemen wearing gp armor, which didn't count as a capital crime.

Johnson's case was a bit more serious, but considering his mental state, motive, and the fact that most of those he killed were HYDRA, he likely wouldn't have to wear gp armor.

In other words, Skye could visit them in prison normally.

Hearing this news, she felt a little better.

Seeing her like this, Harry added, "Though I don't know if you noticed, your father insisted on calling you Daisy, while your mother called you Skye."

Skye was stunned.

It was entirely possible for Jiaying to continue indoctrinating her with bad ideas, using Skye to escape her cage and stir up trouble.

Harry gave her a small reminder.

"Just a casual mention—you still have 30 days of annual leave. It's almost the end of the year; if you don't apply soon, it'll expire."

Ignoring whatever reaction Skye might have, Harry walked onto his transport plane, with Raina silently following behind him.

"Well? Did you see this scene?"

Raina's Inhuman ability was precognition. Based on the original story, this foresight seemed unchangeable, and its mechanism was mysterious.

However, Harry had noticed some clues. Within the thorns on Raina's body, there was a peculiar energy hidden.

Raina said somewhat confusedly, "I saw some of it, but there were slight differences—I saw you completely turn into a stone, and you weren't in the scenes that followed."

"What else?"

"The future I foresee doesn't have you. When I try to find you, the future branches into many forks."

Harry rubbed his chin. This sounded like he was making Raina lose confidence in her ability, and she seemed to have trouble seeing him in the future.

To understand why this was happening, he would have to figure out the mechanism of this precognition. He could use the Mind Stone to study it later; there was no rush, he could wait until the Inhumans' situation stabilized.

"What should I do next?" Raina asked.

Even with her precognition, she was still very much in awe of Harry—before her transformation, Harry had mentioned her ability and its possible side effects. After learning more about Inhuman matters, she found this increasingly incredible!

And now, her ability had failed against this man, making her even more obedient.

Raina's attitude satisfied Harry. After all, it was best for the Earth's Inhumans to have an obedient leader.

"Like I said, step forward to record your people's situation and manage them—you can improvise, but remember to apply for approval from Hammer before transforming any Inhumans."

Your direct supervisor is A. She will coordinate things. Work hard, Little Flower. Soon I will need you and your people to step onto the stage again."

After finishing his instructions here, Harry's prosthetic body lay back into the maintenance pod. The real him was on his plane, preparing for a remote meeting.

Then he would go to Japan to attend the World Energy Conference.

This conference would completely announce the exit of old energy. He hoped established oil and gas companies like Roxxon were prepared and wouldn't start crying on the spot.
