Chapter 5 - The Court’s Decision

Two days after the funeral, the entire pack gathered inside the Pack Court Hall.

The atmosphere inside the hall was tense.

Pack elders, warriors, and important members sat in their seats quietly. Everyone knew why they were there.

Today, the court would decide who the next Alpha would be.

Jayden and Kayden stood in the center of the hall.

Neither of them spoke.

But the tension between the two brothers was obvious.

Fiona sat near the elders with a worried expression. She knew this decision could either unite the pack…

Or destroy her family.

An elder slowly stood up.

"After the death of Alpha Sawyer," he said, "the pack needs a new leader."

Murmurs spread across the room.

"According to pack law, the Alpha's heir must take his place."

Many eyes turned toward the twins.

Jayden remained calm.

Kayden crossed his arms, waiting impatiently.

Another elder continued speaking.

"Both Jayden Sawyer and Kayden Sawyer carry the blood of the Alpha."

"But only one of them can lead this pack."

The hall became completely silent.

Finally, the head elder spoke.

"After discussing with the council… the court has made its decision."

Kayden's eyes narrowed slightly.

Jayden took a slow breath.

The elder raised his voice.

"The next Alpha of the pack will be… Jayden Sawyer."

For a moment, the hall was completely silent.

Then several pack members began applauding.

"Alpha Jayden!"

But Kayden's face darkened.

His fists tightened.

He stepped forward angrily.

"What?" he said coldly.

"You chose him?"

The elders looked at him seriously.

"Jayden has shown better control, responsibility, and leadership."

Kayden laughed bitterly.

"So that's it?"

"No challenge?"

"No fight?"

Jayden looked at his brother calmly.

"This isn't a game, Kayden."

Kayden's eyes burned with anger.

"You think you deserve the Alpha position more than me?"

The temperature in the room suddenly felt heavier.

Fiona quickly stood up.

"Kayden, stop."

But Kayden only smiled coldly.

"Fine."

He stepped closer to Jayden.

"Enjoy your new title, brother."

His voice turned quiet and dangerous.

"Because one day… I will take it from you."

Then Kayden turned and walked out of the hall.

Leaving behind a silence that made everyone uneasy.

Jayden watched his brother leave.

He knew one thing for certain.

The real battle between them…

Had only just begun.
