Aarav's breathing became fast, and he could hear his own heartbeat. Blue light kept flashing in the room again and again, and the sound coming from the machine grew louder—beep… beep… beep…
The scientist quickly moved toward the machine and started examining it carefully. Worry was clearly visible on his face.
"We need to do something quickly," he said in a serious voice.
Aarav asked nervously, "What will happen if this machine reaches 100%?"
The scientist stayed silent for a moment, then said, "It could release such powerful energy that terrible changes may occur throughout the jungle. It might completely disturb the balance of this place."
Hearing this, Aarav got scared—but now there was no time to step back.
Just then, the small hidden door in the wall made a sound again—grrr… grrr…
Behind it, there was complete darkness.
The scientist immediately picked up a torch and pointed it toward the doorway. "The control system must be inside this room," he said.
Aarav took a deep breath. "We have to go in."
Both of them slowly stepped inside. The room was very narrow, and old wires and pipes were fixed along the walls. As they moved deeper, the air started getting colder.
Suddenly, Aarav felt like someone was watching them. He stopped immediately.
The scientist asked, "What happened? Why did you stop?"
Aarav whispered, "I think someone is watching us… There's someone else here besides us."
The scientist paused for a moment, then said, "This place has been sealed for years. No one else can be here."
But just then, a strange sound echoed from deep inside the tunnel—like something heavy being dragged slowly—ghssss… ghssss…
Aarav's heart started pounding. "Did you hear that?" he whispered.
The scientist had heard it too. Both of them stood still for a few seconds.
Then, suddenly, the sound disappeared. The room became silent again.
"Maybe it was just the wind," the scientist said, trying to reassure himself.
But Aarav wasn't convinced.
After walking a little further, they reached a large room. In the center, there were several machines, and in the middle stood a big control panel.
A spark of hope appeared on the scientist's face. "This is the control system," he said.
They quickly moved toward it. The panel had many buttons and screens, but most of them were off.
The scientist started pressing buttons quickly. After a few seconds, one screen suddenly lit up.
It read: Emergency Control System Activated
Aarav felt a bit relieved.
But suddenly, the same sound came from behind them again—this time louder—ghssss… ghssss…
Both of them turned around at once.
Something was moving in the darkness.
Aarav pointed his torch in that direction… and what he saw made his blood run cold.
Two glowing eyes were staring at them from the darkness.
Those eyes were slowly moving closer.
Aarav's voice trembled. "W-what is that?"
The scientist was also frightened.
Within moments, the creature stepped into the light.
It was a large animal—but not a normal one. Its body looked like a wild wolf, but its eyes glowed with a blue light. It seemed to be affected by the energy of the machine.
The creature began to growl—grrrrr…
Aarav stepped back. "It might attack us!"
The scientist quickly said, "This is the effect of the machine's energy. We must shut it down as soon as possible!"
Just then, the machine's sound grew louder—beep… beep… beep…
Aarav looked at the screen.
Energy Level: 95%
Time was running out.
The scientist worked rapidly on the control panel. "I need to enter the correct code. Only then will the machine shut down!"
Meanwhile, the mysterious creature slowly started moving toward them. The blue glow in its eyes grew stronger.
Aarav looked around and saw an iron rod lying on the ground. He quickly picked it up.
"If it attacks, we'll have to defend ourselves," he said.
The creature was now only a few steps away.
Suddenly, it roared loudly and leaped toward them!
Aarav jumped aside just in time. The creature hit the ground but quickly stood up again.
Chaos filled the room.
At that moment, another message appeared on the control panel:
Energy Level: 98%
The scientist shouted, "Just a little more time!"
Aarav tried to distract the creature so the scientist could finish his work.
The creature attacked again, but this time Aarav pushed it back with the iron rod.
The sounds in the room became more terrifying—beep… beep… beep…
Suddenly, the screen flashed:
Energy Level: 99%
The scientist's hands moved faster than ever.
Then, finally, he pressed the last button.
For a few seconds, everything went completely silent.
Then, suddenly, a bright light filled the entire room.
Aarav closed his eyes.
After a few moments, when the light faded, the machine had completely stopped.
On the screen, it read:
System Shutdown
A deep silence spread across the room. The blue light had disappeared, and the mysterious creature slowly calmed down and sat on the ground.
Aarav took a deep breath of relief.
But the scientist still looked serious.
Aarav asked, "Is it all over?"
The scientist slowly shook his head. "No…"
He looked at the machine and said, "This was just the beginning."
Aarav was shocked. "What do you mean?"
The scientist replied, "This jungle doesn't have just one secret."
At that moment, a strange sound echoed from deep within the jungle—this time even more terrifying than before.
Aarav and the scientist looked at each other.
Now they understood… the mystery of the dark jungle was far from over.
Soon, Aarav and the scientist began following that strange sound deeper into the jungle. Suddenly, they sensed movement behind the trees.
They got alert and called out, "Who's there?"
After a few moments, a man stepped out from behind the trees. He had a slight smile on his face.
"Don't worry," he said. "My name is Dr. Mehta. I'm a scientist. I'm researching these strange events happening in this jungle."
What will happen next… will be revealed in Part 5.
