Chapter 6 - Welcome To Hell

RUNE'S POV

Hell? Hell in question was totally different from what they've told us. It's way too calm for the mind. The court gates were beautiful, absolutely amazing, they held a divine presence I couldn't understand at all. I saw the words written but I couldn't see them.

Hell? I imagined the thorns and the cries and the gnashing of teeth. I expected more than enough torture but instead I get a guardian, and to be honest I can't even tell if his a human, spirit or just a demon. A jinn perhaps.

Ethan seemed too friendly, another lost sheep in the fire of the sinful. Another stubborn sheep looking got a master to cover him.

At least if he couldn't lead on earth, he could surely lead here.

Oh right! The gates! The courts! The court gates?

It's beautiful yet ugly. The demons standing at the entrance reminded me of the same shadows I saw in my room nearly every night after my neighbour died. They had nothing but a smoke like appearance, equal to the darkness and loopholes within.

They didn't greet, they maintained a straight face and only answered to the pouring of the human blood. They turned to the both of them, they noticed both parties had no blood in them. Just still. They turned their faces back to the former positions.

Ethan understood their language, he dipped his hands into his pockets and he reached for something. Slowly the smell of blood reached my nostrils, I moved away, he pulled his hands out and what he held baffled me. He held the heart of a mammal in his hands.

He stretched it forward to the demons. Both of them turned to look at him and then at the beating heart. One took it and then allowed us to pass through.

Ethan turned his face to me, it was hopeless. I wondered if he was a cannibal, I wanted to ask about the heart but I couldn't. I didn't want to create an emotion of anger in him. He sat for a while by a fountain, it had nothing but blood pouring out of it. He sat stilluntil he could breathe properly again.

Clearly he hated this job severely.

Ethan and I walked through till we reached the Rocky Lane together, we suddenly reached a large building with the difference of creatures laying all around it. They looked like there were dead but they were just still.

"What are those?" I asked.

"You don't want to know."

Some had tails and some had horns, some had names and some had nails for torture. Some had papers a while others prepared the courts for the session.

A light dropped from above, that must be Lucifer.

The fallen light of the heavens. The rebellious angel of pride. The former sound of the heavens best songs and rhythms. The light settled but his face wasn't seen. I hid myself lower than I could.

"Who's that? That's light?"

"You know who." His short replies made her question herself. His mood felt gloomy.

His face was covered fully with a dim light. The sun shone brighter than it. Ethan whispered to me, "That's him. Stay still. They'll hail him soon."

I watched them hail him high before they sat to start the court cases. The sight of the blood pouring from a large container held above by an invisible force amazed me.

The papers were passed and stamped with blood. They were kept on a table. A demon stood by the corners to keep the records straight. Every being in there had a special duty to answer to.

A taller entity walked in, I noticed they were at least twelve of them seated after him. They must be the prince's or dukes. Ethan said, "Maintain. Don't trigger anything."

One after the other, they slowly disappeared into thin air carrying the papers away. Of course they now had the power to use their demons assigned to them to act on those whose names were now found on the list.

The court case began and ended within the blink of an eye. Rune asked, "What just happened?"

"They are done. Majority were judged for one thing, Greed." Ethan replied.

It's an hour after. We are back at the house. What an experience!

 I can't say if I enjoyed it or if I didn't.

I turned to Ethan only to find him already staring at me. I was stuck, his blue eyes pierced into mine. He was so fine.

He smiled at me, Oh shit! He could see my aura.

He knew my thoughts before I even said them. He could tell I liked his physical appearance.

"Rune? I can see you." I blushed. I turned away with my face to the window, I realized his feet walking closer to me. His slow steps reassuring me of safety.

I turned to him, his face right in front of mine. He said, "Rune, did you notice something about hell?"

"No, what is it?" I asked.

He said, "The sex rate is higher than usual."

He knew what I wanted, how I wanted it and I knew it. My lips nearly reached for his but he stopped me with his hands on my arms. Did he want my body on his? I wouldn't deny.

"Rune. No. If you do this with me then you may lose your chance of ever returning."

That rang a bell in my head. I needed my return more than I needed my sexual pleasure.

"Yeah I don't want to ruin that. After all I've got just two days right?"

"Yeah two nights until the final decision is made. So… " He said.

"Ethan I'm so sorry for pushing myself on you." I needed to apologize.

"Stop, you naive girl, please. You need to find yourself. Also you need some rest like me. It's almost morning. Would you like to see all parts of hell?"

"I don't know if I need that." Nope clearly not.

Ethan moved closer to me. He held me, "Ethan I don't want to. At least not now."

"I mean for tomorrow. Let's talk more, we don't have that much time."

I need some rest. Thank you Ethan.
