After Headmaster Linjos finished his speech, most of the students rushed toward the cafeteria.
After spending an entire week in the forest, everyone wanted a proper meal.
Ash, however, quietly returned to his room.
He lay down on his bed and stared at the ceiling.
"Hmm..."
"It's been ten years in this world."
"That means my original body in Marvel should be sixteen years old now."
"If I remember correctly..."
"That would make it the year 2006."
He closed his eyes in thought.
"This should also be around the time Tony Stark is kidnapped."
"Maybe it's time for me to return."
He slowly nodded to himself.
"Raphael."
"I'm leaving this body for a while and returning to my original body."
"Keep this body safe while I'm gone."
"I know, A pseudo-consciousness will be created by my innate ability will have all my memories and personality, so that this body continue living normally."
"But with you here to watch over it, I'll feel much more at ease."
Raphael's gentle voice echoed inside his mind.
[Of course, Master.]
[By the way, while you are in the Marvel Universe, I will also accompany you.]
Ash raised an eyebrow.
"You can?"
[Yes.]
[However, because of your innate ability restrictions, I would be 30 times weaker]
[My title there will simply be Sage rather than the Lord of Wisdom.]
Ash smiled.
"Even at one-thirtieth of your current abilities, you'll still be incredibly useful."
"The Marvel Universe relies far more on science than magic."
"With your help, we might even be able to develop technology far beyond what's currently available."
Raphael agreed.
[That is highly probable.]
Ash slowly closed his eyes.
He focused on his Innate Ability.
Traveller.
The ability that had brought his soul into this world ten years ago.
Now he used it once again.
This time...
To return home.
A strange energy wrapped around his soul.
Unlike Warp Magic, it ignored space entirely.
Moments later, Ash felt his consciousness separate from his current body.
The body lying on the bed remained perfectly still for several seconds.
Then it slowly opened its eyes.
Its expression was calm, but there was a slight emptiness behind those eyes.
Raphael quietly observed the body.
The pseudo-consciousness quickly adjusted itself and naturally took control.
It possessed all of Ash's memories, habits, and personality.
There was almost no difference between the original and the copy.
Raphael smiled inwardly.
[The pseudo-consciousness is flawless.]
[I worried for nothing.]
The Ash clone stretched his arms.
"So?"
"Is everything working properly, Raphael?"
[Yes, Master.]
The clone nodded.
"Good."
"Then let's continue living normally until the original returns."
Raphael acknowledged him.
[Understood.]
...
At the same time...
On another world.
Earth.
The Marvel Universe.
Midtown High School.
Queens, New York.
A teenage boy who had been sleeping in the back of a classroom suddenly opened his eyes.
Ash slowly raised his head.
The memories of two different lives briefly overlapped before settling into one.
The girl sitting beside him looked over with a curious expression.
"I thought you said you were going to sleep through the whole class."
Ash blinked before giving a small smile.
"Yeah."
"I'm still tired."
He stood up from his seat.
"I'm going to wash my face."
Without waiting for another question, he walked out of the classroom and headed toward the restroom.
Once inside, he locked the door behind him.
He closed his eyes.
The memories accumulated over the past ten years instantly flowed into his mind.
Every experience.
Every lesson.
Every spell.
Every battle.
Every conversation.
Within seconds, they merged perfectly with his original memories.
When the process was complete, Ash slowly opened his eyes.
"Sage?"
A familiar voice immediately answered.
[Yes, Master.]
Ash smiled.
Although the voice sounded younger and lacked Raphael's overwhelming presence, it still carried the same calm and reliable tone.
"It's good to have you here too."
[Likewise, Master.]
"Likewise, Master."
Ash looked at his reflection in the mirror.
His appearance had changed a lot over the last ten years.
He was now sixteen years old.
His body had become taller and leaner, and years of training in his other body had subtly influenced his posture and movements.
He raised his hand and slowly clenched his fist.
"So the synchronization is complete."
Sage answered immediately.
[Yes, Master.]
[Your memories from both worlds have merged successfully.]
[Your soul remains connected to your avatar in the other world.]
Ash nodded.
"What abilities can I use here?"
[Apart from Traveller, your physical abilities remain synchronized.]
[Your knowledge also remains intact.]
[However, magic is heavily restricted because this world lacks mana as well as due to the conversion ratio of 30:1]
[You can only use extremely small amounts of mana that your soul core naturally generates.]
[ The mana core of the Supreme Magus have changed into Soul Core here ]
Ash wasn't surprised.
"I expected that."
"Can we improve it?"
[Yes.]
[There are several possible methods.]
[One is to develop technology capable of storing and amplifying mana.]
[Another is to create artificial mana generators.]
[Both will require time.]
Ash smiled.
"That's enough."
"I wasn't planning to throw magic around in public anyway."
He splashed some cold water onto his face before leaving the restroom.
As he walked through the hallway, countless memories of this world's life resurfaced naturally.
He had lived here for sixteen years.
He remembered every classmate.
Every teacher.
Every routine.
Nothing felt unfamiliar.
After returning to the classroom, he quietly sat back down.
The teacher glanced at him for a moment before continuing the lesson.
Ash opened his notebook.
To everyone else, he appeared to be paying attention.
In reality, Ash wasn't paying attention to the lesson at all.
Instead, he was sorting through the memories of his original body to see everything that had happened in the Marvel Universe while he had been away.
"Hmm..."
"As expected, it's the year 2006."
He silently reviewed news reports, conversations, and memories from the past several months.
"So Tony Stark hasn't been kidnapped yet."
"It looks like that incident is still a few months away."
There weren't many major events that caught his attention.
Most of the world's news revolved around politics, business, and international conflicts.
Ash continued searching through his memories.
"I guess this version of Marvel hasn't publicly revealed the existence of mutants yet."
There wasn't a single major news report mentioning mutants or the X-Gene.
If they already existed, they were still operating in complete secrecy.
That was exactly what Ash had expected.
"Looks like everything is progressing according to the original timeline."
With that thought, he finished reviewing his memories and shifted his attention back to the classroom.
