— You are in the wrong novel.
— You aren't supposed to be in the best novel written by the author.
— You should be in the worst novel from the same author to make it better and more interesting.
— You have two choices.
— 1) Transmigrate and write your own story and make it surpass the best novel by the author.
— 2) Return to your original world and forget everything that happened here.
— Your decision will affect the rest of your life. If you return, you'll never meet Mizuki again, and your other memories will disappear.
— Choose wisely.
I don't know what it was but when the screen appeared, everything around me turned black as if I was teleported to another world. I was levitating in the dark and empty space and the only source of light was the blue screen, shining brightly in front of my eyes.
"What am I supposed to do now?"
I tried to ask the screen, but it didn't respond.
I was confused, scared, and frustrated all at once.
What should I do? I just realized that I'm in the wrong novel and it's already too late to fix things.
If I chose option 1, I will be able to see Mizuki again. I could make my own story, and maybe I'll be able to end up with her. I don't know if it's possible, but I can at least try.
I sighed, and slowly closed my eyes.
On the other hand, if I choose 2, I won't be in this novel anymore. All my memories and feelings for Mizuki will vanish. I wouldn't be able to remember her face, her voice, her smell, and her touch. And I wouldn't be able to feel how soft and warm her skin is. I would have to live with the fact that I won't be able to be with her ever again.
After thinking about it carefully, I opened my eyes again.
There was no choice to be made. Of course, I would stay in this novel and continue writing my own story. That is the only way I can be with Mizuki.
I know many readers will say; What?! Just because of a girl you chose to stay in the novel which doesn't even relate to reality.
Well, I indeed chose to remain in this novel to be with Mizuki. However, I believe that my decision is the correct one. And I also think the majority of readers will like it, saying; a great choice.
I'll explain why.
All stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. There must be a conflict between characters to make it interesting.
This is the reason why there are bad guys and good guys in all novels. Without it, the story wouldn't be fun. But, there must be more than that to make it better.
To summarize, without conflicts, there wouldn't be any progress in the story. And without progress, there is no need for readers to come back and read it all over again.
Therefore, the goal of any writer is to keep the reader engaged. In other words, to make sure that the reader keeps reading.
For example, a detective novel is boring unless there are criminals, police officers, and detectives. So, the main character must go on a journey to catch the criminal. As long as the reader continues reading, the story will continue.
This is exactly what I did.
I chose to stay in this novel, knowing that it might not even be real. I chose to give up my real life to be with Mizuki. Yes, it was crazy, stupid, and insane. But I did it anyway. Why? Because I love Mizuki, and I will do anything to be with her.
So, let me tell you this.
I won't regret choosing to stay in this novel. Instead, I will be happy that I have the opportunity to be with Mizuki, and I will gladly accept it.
The same goes for all readers. If you haven't realized it yet, you should take this chance to be with the one you love. Life is short, and you never know what will happen tomorrow.
Novels are made to entertain people.
This story is about a boy who was sent to a different world by a mysterious screen. He is now living in a fantasy world where he gets to be with a woman he loves.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
Of course, it does, because this is exactly what happens in every novel ever.
This story is a fantasy, a dream, and an illusion. It is what the readers want to hear and experience.
People like to fantasize about what they desire, and fiction is the only place where we can do it without any consequences.
In order to keep the readers coming back, writers must create new and exciting stories that will make them think, "Wow, this is amazing!"
It doesn't matter whether the story is real or not. What matters is that it makes the reader believe in it and be immersed in it.
The readers are the ones who decide what they want to read. Writers are merely a tool, created by the readers themselves, to fulfill their fantasies and desires.
Now you must be thinking what kind of novel is this? Right? How can mc talk to the readers?
Well, this is the novel that hasn't even started. So let me start it for real.
When I clicked the first option displayed on the screen, its contents changed. I thought I would at least get transmigrated into a nameless character, but instead of transmigrating into any nameless character or sending me to the start of the novel, the screen showed that I will be sent to hundred years into the future where Mizuki only exists in books?
"Wait...what?!"
