Everyone was happy to hear that Nayeon would be officially getting married to Dohyun and it was for real this time.
Nayeon flexed her sparkly ring to Haerin and her sister.
"Do you guys see this!?" She asked them.
Haerin laughed.
"We see it, cousin." Haerin replied
"But just imagine what would have happened if you never went to that café." Minju said. "Thank goodness you went there. Now my sister is going to be a wife!"
"That's right! How are things with Byeol?" Nayeon asked.
"Very good. Ariyana loves her dad and they went to the park together sometime ago." Minju replied.
"Alls well that ends well! How amazing this December turned out to be!" Haerin exclaimed.
"You could say that again, Haerin." Nayeon said.
"You'll need me and Haerin's taste to get you the perfect wedding dress, Nayeon!" Minju said.
"Yes, of course! I know you both have great fashion tastes!" Nayeon said happily. "I'm so excited for the wedding next year. In the meantime, I have to get to know Dohyun's parents as Nayeon Park and not Nari Na."
"Make a good impression on them!" Minju said.
That same day, Dohyun picked me up so that we could meet with his parents. I was nervous of course, but Dohyun assured me that everything would be alright.
I met with his parents and they kept everything in our conversation light and decent and asked why I was in love with Dohyun. I answered their questions truthfully and kept the conversation decent as well. Dohyun gave me a look at some point to let me know that I was doing a great job and I smiled at him.
When the meeting with his parents was over, Dohyun went to speak with his dad while I patiently waited in the lounge.
Dohyun's mom unexpectedly approached me and sat beside me.
"Nayeon Park, is it?" She asked. Her voice was sweet to hear.
"Y-yes, ma'am." I replied.
"There is no need for the formality. You will soon be my daughter-in-law by next year. Call me Miss Dahye."
"Dahye? It's a lovely name."
"Thank you. I have come to ask you what I asked during our conversation but in private this time."
"And what is that, Miss Dahye?"
"Why do you love my son?"
Nayeon smiled at Mrs Lee.
"Miss Dahye... Dohyun is one of the people that I find myself having butterflies in my stomach every time that we are together. He makes me smile, and always gives me a feeling of comfort. And he never gave up on me even when I thought everything between us was over. I still feel ashamed of myself for ignoring his text and calls because I thought he was angry. I should have known that he was better than that. So Miss Dahye... I love your son for who he is. Not for anything material or for fame or wealth. I love Dohyun and I want to spend the rest of my life with him, Miss Dahye."
Mrs Lee didn't reply immediately but smiled.
"You know, Nayeon. That was sort of the same reply I gave to Mr and Mrs Lee before I married my husband and became a Lee. You are truly right for my son. Dohyun has found a great woman for himself. And a good daughter-in-law for me as well."
"Thank you, Miss Dahye." Nayeon and Mrs Lee hugged and at the same time, Dohyun finished the meeting with his dad and they left together.
Nayeon told Dohyun about her and Mrs Lee's interaction and he was happy that both of his parents approved of Nayeon.
