Chapter 8 - The Truth of His Power

The world was burning.

Cities that once shined with life were now nothing but ruins.

Mountains had been broken apart.

Oceans had turned violent and dark.

Smoke covered the sky like a blanket of sorrow.

Everywhere across the planet, people were running, crying, praying for survival.

But their prayers had no answer.

Because the enemy they faced was not just a demon.

It was the Demon God.

High above the broken world, the monstrous being floated in the crimson sky.

Its wings spread wider than entire cities.

Its presence alone crushed the courage of every living creature.

Even the strongest mages could barely stand.

They tried to fight.

They launched their most powerful spells.

Storms of fire.

Blades of lightning.

Walls of divine light.

But every attack disappeared before reaching the Demon God.

Like dust vanishing in the wind.

The Demon God laughed.

A terrible sound filled with cruel amusement.

"Is this all humanity can offer?"

Its glowing eyes scanned the ruined lands.

"You survived for centuries after my defeat…"

"But now your world will finally end."

The Demon God slowly raised one massive hand.

Dark energy gathered around it like a growing black sun.

This single attack would destroy what remained of humanity.

Entire continents would disappear.

And the age of humans would end forever.

But just as the Demon God prepared to release its final destruction…

Something changed.

The wind suddenly stopped.

The dark clouds froze in the sky.

The raging oceans became still.

Even the burning flames across the world stopped moving.

Everything became silent.

Time itself had stopped.

The Demon God frowned slightly.

Even though time was frozen, it could still move.

Because it existed beyond normal reality.

But something strange was happening.

A presence had appeared.

A quiet, calm presence.

Standing in the empty sky not far away…

Was a young man.

Simple clothes.

Calm eyes.

Dark hair moving gently in the frozen air.

Auren Vale.

He stood there quietly, looking at the massive Demon God.

There was no fear in his eyes.

Only calm understanding.

The Demon God stared at him.

For the first time since its return…

It felt confusion.

"You…"

Its deep voice echoed across the frozen sky.

"Who are you?"

Auren looked at the ruined world below.

Half the planet was already destroyed.

Millions of lives had vanished.

Cities had turned to dust.

The sight filled his heart with sadness.

He had always hoped this moment would never come.

But now it was unavoidable.

Auren slowly looked back at the Demon God.

"I'm nobody important."

The Demon God laughed.

A loud, mocking sound.

"Nobody?"

"You stopped time across the entire world."

"Even ancient gods could not do such a thing."

Its glowing eyes narrowed.

"You are not human."

Auren thought about that for a moment.

Then he answered quietly.

"Maybe you're right."

The Demon God spread its massive wings.

Dark energy surrounded its body.

"Then tell me, unknown being…"

"Why are you here?"

Auren looked at the broken earth again.

At the ruined cities.

At the endless destruction.

Then he gave a simple answer.

"To fix things."

The Demon God laughed again.

"You think you can oppose me?"

"I am the ruler of demons!"

"The destroyer of worlds!"

Its voice thundered across the frozen sky.

"I have killed gods!"

"I have ended civilizations!"

"You are nothing before me!"

For a moment, silence followed.

Then Auren sighed softly.

Not in fear.

But in quiet disappointment.

"You talk too much."

The Demon God's eyes burned with anger.

"You dare—"

But before it could finish speaking…

Auren raised one hand.

Reality itself trembled.

The sky cracked.

The stars flickered.

Space twisted like water around his fingers.

The Demon God suddenly felt something impossible.

Fear.

For the first time in its ancient existence…

It felt fear.

"What… are you?"

Auren looked at his own hand quietly.

"I never wanted to use this power."

The air around him filled with strange energy.

Not dark.

Not light.

Something deeper than both.

Something older than existence itself.

"The magic of this world…"

"It all came from the same origin."

The Demon God stared in horror as the truth slowly appeared before it.

Auren's power was not ordinary magic.

It was the source of magic itself.

The beginning of reality.

The Void.

Auren spoke calmly.

"My power is not meant for fighting."

"It's meant for creation."

"And correction."

The Demon God tried to attack.

It gathered a massive storm of destruction and launched it toward Auren.

A power capable of destroying planets.

But the moment it reached him…

It disappeared.

Completely erased.

Like a mistake removed from a page.

Auren looked at the Demon God one last time.

"You were never supposed to exist in this timeline."

The Demon God roared in fury and fear.

"You think you can erase me?!"

"I AM ETERNAL!"

Auren's eyes were calm.

"No."

"You're just an error."

He closed his hand slowly.

And in that moment…

The Demon God vanished.

Not defeated.

Not destroyed.

Simply removed from existence.

Like it had never been born.

The red sky slowly faded.

But the world below was still destroyed.

Half the planet was gone.

Billions of lives had been lost.

Auren looked down at the broken earth.

And he knew what he had to do next.

But the price would be everything.

He whispered quietly to himself.

"This will be the last time."
