Chapter 9 - The Hunter's world

Origin of the Infinite Worlds

Chapter 9 – The Hunters' World

Astra City is no longer the same. After the Gate outbreak, every corner of the city is on alert. Armed guards stand at intersections, surveillance drones fill the sky, and emergency notices run across large screens.

Zerion walks slowly along the road. Luna is beside him. Both are silent.

"What are you thinking?" Luna finally asked.

Zerion stayed quiet for a moment, then said,

"This world…"

He paused.

"…it's incomplete."

Luna frowned.

"Incomplete?"

"Yes," Zerion said. "Everything is moving… but there is no balance."

Luna looked deeply at him.

"And you want to bring balance?"

Zerion gave a faint smile.

"…I've already started."

Right then—

"Zerion!"

Kael ran toward them from behind, his face serious.

"We need to talk," he said.

Zerion looked at him.

"Now?"

"Yes. It's important."

---

Astra Guild, Conference Room

Several people are already seated inside. Powerful hunters—some in armor, others in casual outfits, but all of them carry a dangerous presence.

As Zerion entered, everyone looked at him.

Some with curiosity.

Some with suspicion.

Some with direct hostility.

Kael said,

"Everyone, this is Zerion."

One man stood up. Tall, muscular, with a look of disdain.

"This kid?" he said. "The one causing all this drama?"

Kael replied coldly,

"Watch your tone, Ragan."

Ragan smirked.

"Relax. I just want to see… how strong he really is."

Luna stepped forward.

"This isn't a fight arena."

Ragan looked at her.

"And you are?"

"His partner," Luna said coldly.

Tension filled the room.

Zerion stepped forward slowly.

"…you want to test me?"

Ragan smiled.

"Exactly."

Kael was about to speak—

But Zerion raised his hand and stopped him.

"…fine."

The room fell silent.

Kael frowned.

"Zerion, this isn't necessary—"

Zerion calmly replied,

"I need to see… how strong this world is."

---

Arena

A massive training ground inside the guild, surrounded by barriers to prevent power leakage.

Ragan stood on one side, a fiery aura burning around him.

Zerion stood on the other side—completely calm.

Luna watched from a distance, eyes narrowed.

Kael stood nearby, visibly tense.

"Start," someone announced.

Ragan didn't hesitate.

He rushed forward.

His fist blazing with fire.

BOOM

He struck directly at Zerion.

But—

Zerion didn't move.

An invisible layer formed in front of him.

The attack stopped there.

Ragan's eyes widened.

"What—?"

Zerion spoke slowly.

"…that's it?"

The next moment—

He flicked his finger.

THUD

Ragan was thrown several meters away.

Everyone was stunned.

Ragan stood up again, anger in his eyes.

"Don't underestimate me!"

He attacked again.

Faster.

Stronger.

Fire, shockwaves, speed—everything combined.

The arena trembled.

But Zerion—

Unmoving.

He simply watched.

Analyzing.

"…energy manipulation… primitive," he muttered.

"SHUT UP!" Ragan shouted.

He launched his final attack.

This time—

Zerion raised his hand.

"…enough."

In an instant—

Everything stopped.

The fire vanished.

Energy disappeared.

Ragan froze mid-air.

Fear filled his eyes.

Zerion walked forward.

"…you are strong," he said.

"…but you don't follow the rules."

Ragan trembled.

"…what are you…?"

Zerion didn't answer.

He lowered his hand.

Ragan fell to the ground.

---

Silence.

No one in the arena spoke.

Kael said slowly,

"…match over."

But no one clapped.

Because—

This wasn't a match.

It was a demonstration.

---

Conference Room

Everyone was serious now.

No one underestimated Zerion anymore.

Kael said,

"Now let's move to the main topic."

He activated a hologram.

A city map appeared.

Several locations glowed red.

"These places show unusual activity," Kael said.

Zerion looked.

His eyes stopped at one point.

"…this one."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"You're sure?"

Zerion nodded.

"…there's a Fragment there."

The room fell silent again.

Ragan muttered,

"…so it's true…"

Luna said,

"We're going there."

Kael paused, then said,

"…alright. Prepare a team."

Zerion replied,

"No team needed."

Kael looked at him.

"This is dangerous."

Zerion gave a faint smile.

"…I know."

He stood up.

"…and I'm still going."

Luna stood beside him.

"Me too."

Kael sighed.

"…fine. But there will be backup."

---

Night

A dark part of the city.

An old warehouse zone.

Zerion and Luna moved forward slowly.

The surroundings were silent.

Unnaturally silent.

"…there's something here," Luna whispered.

"Yes," Zerion said.

He stopped.

In front of him—

A door.

Broken.

But—

Light was coming from inside.

"…this is it," Zerion said.

He pushed the door open.

Inside—

A massive hall.

At the center—

A glowing core.

A Fragment.

But—

Someone was standing in front of it.

A black cloak.

Face hidden.

The figure slowly turned.

"…you've arrived," he said.

Zerion narrowed his eyes.

"…who are you?"

The man gave a faint smile.

"…I am the guardian."

Silence.

Luna whispered,

"…this is new…"

The Guardian stepped forward.

"…you cannot take this Fragment."

Zerion said,

"We'll see."

The Guardian replied,

"…then prove it."

In an instant—

Dark energy burst from his body.

The entire hall trembled.

Zerion stood still.

Fire ignited in his eyes.

"…finally…"

He said slowly—

"…someone serious."

Both of their powers surged.

Light and darkness collided.

The battle begins.

Part 2

The air inside the warehouse grew heavy. The surrounding walls trembled, as if the place wouldn't last much longer. In the center stood Zerion and the Guardian—an invisible pressure forming between them.

Luna stood a little behind, but her eyes didn't move even for a moment. She could tell—this wasn't a normal fight.

The Guardian spoke slowly,

"…you're different."

Zerion replied,

"…so are you."

A moment of silence.

Then—

The Guardian made the first move.

He raised his hand—

And instantly, the entire hall was swallowed by darkness.

No, it wasn't just the lights going out.

It was… space distortion.

Luna's eyes widened.

"Zerion!"

But her voice didn't reach him.

Because—

Zerion and the Guardian were now in another layer.

A void.

Nothing existed around them. Only darkness.

The Guardian's voice echoed,

"…your rules don't work here."

Zerion looked around calmly.

There was no fear in his eyes.

"…you're mistaken," he said quietly.

"…I make the rules."

The next moment—

Light began to emerge from his body.

Blue, black, white—three powers at once.

The void started trembling.

The Guardian paused.

"…interesting…"

He waved his hand—

Hundreds of shadow blades formed from the darkness.

All of them shot toward Zerion at once.

SHHHHH

They sliced through the air.

But—

Zerion closed his eyes.

One second.

Two seconds.

Then—

He opened them.

"…break."

In an instant—

All the blades stopped.

Then shattered.

The Guardian became fully serious.

"…who are you?"

Zerion answered slowly,

"…I am Zerion."

The Guardian said,

"…that's a name. I'm asking your essence."

Zerion stayed silent for a moment.

Then said—

"…I am balance."

The void trembled again.

This time, the Guardian moved forward directly.

Darkness swirled around his body.

"…then show me balance."

He extended his hand—

And the entire void began to collapse.

Space shattered around Zerion.

But he didn't move.

A sphere formed around him.

Creation energy.

He raised his hand.

"…restore."

The broken space began to repair itself.

The Guardian watched.

For the first time, there was… respect in his eyes.

"…good."

He gave a faint smile.

"…now the final test."

His body suddenly disappeared.

Zerion narrowed his eyes.

The next moment—

The Guardian appeared behind him.

CRACK

A powerful strike.

Zerion moved slightly forward—

But didn't fall.

He turned around.

"…speed…"

he whispered.

Then—

He vanished.

The Guardian's eyes widened.

"…what—"

BOOM

He was struck.

The void trembled.

Both stood apart again.

Neither was breathing.

Because—

This wasn't a physical fight.

This was a pure clash of power.

The Guardian said,

"…enough."

The void slowly faded.

---

Back in the real world.

Luna suddenly took a breath.

"…finally…"

She saw—

Zerion and the Guardian standing again in the hall.

But—

Both were completely unharmed.

The Guardian slowly bowed his head.

"…you have passed."

Zerion looked at him.

"…what does that mean?"

The Guardian replied,

"…this Fragment is yours."

Luna was surprised.

"…just like that?"

The Guardian smiled faintly.

"…this isn't about strength."

He looked at Zerion.

"…it's about worth."

Silence.

Zerion slowly walked toward the Fragment.

The core glowed.

He reached out.

The moment he touched it—

FLASH

Visions filled his eyes.

Countless worlds.

Countless destructions.

A voice—

"…hurry…"

Zerion opened his eyes.

His breathing heavy.

Luna asked,

"What did you see?"

Zerion replied slowly,

"…time is short."

The Guardian stepped back.

"…you're starting to understand."

He turned away.

"…next time… we'll be enemies."

Zerion asked,

"Why?"

The Guardian stopped.

"…because not everyone wants balance."

He disappeared.

---

The hall fell silent again.

Luna looked at Zerion.

"…what now?"

Zerion looked at the Fragment and said—

"…now, I grow stronger."

He clenched his fist.

The Fragment was absorbed into his body.

His aura surged.

The surroundings trembled.

Luna stepped back.

"…Zerion…"

Zerion opened his eyes.

A new light shone within them.

"…this is just the beginning."

Far away—

A crack appeared in the sky again.

And someone—

Was watching.

Chapter 9 – The Hunters' World

Part 3

The air inside the warehouse is still trembling. After absorbing the Fragment, the waves of power around Zerion have spread throughout the entire area. Broken concrete, cracked walls—everything is struggling to withstand the pressure.

Luna stands a bit away, her eyes fixed on Zerion.

"…are you okay?" she asked softly.

Zerion didn't respond for a moment.

His body is still, but inside—

power is flowing.

His eyes slowly opened.

"…yes," he said.

But his voice is no longer the same.

Deeper.

Heavier.

Luna noticed it.

"…you're changing," she whispered.

Zerion looked at her.

"…I'm evolving."

Silence.

Suddenly—

Zerion trembled slightly.

A voice echoed in his head.

"…two fragments…"

"…incomplete…"

"…find more…"

He closed his eyes.

A vision appeared—

A massive map.

Red points scattered across the world.

Gates.

Fragments.

And some places—

dark.

Nothing visible there.

No, that's wrong.

Something is there… but unseen.

Zerion suddenly opened his eyes.

His breathing heavy.

Luna stepped forward immediately.

"What happened?"

Zerion said slowly,

"…they're hidden."

"Who?"

"…some of the Fragments."

Luna frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Zerion replied,

"…not all Fragments are visible."

Silence.

Right then—

Kael's voice came through the communicator.

"Zerion! Where are you?"

Zerion activated the device.

"…mission complete."

Kael paused.

"…we detected an explosion. What happened?"

Zerion said,

"Target secured."

Kael exhaled.

"…you really did it alone?"

Zerion didn't reply.

Kael continued,

"…there's a problem."

Zerion narrowed his eyes.

"What?"

"…multiple Gate signals detected across the city."

Luna was shocked.

"At the same time?"

"Yes," Kael said. "…this isn't normal."

Zerion looked at the sky.

"…they've started."

"Who?" Kael asked.

Zerion replied slowly—

"…the Observer."

---

Astra City

The night has grown darker.

But the city lights are brighter.

Because—

emergency mode has been activated.

Cracks in the sky.

Not one.

Not two.

Five.

All in different locations.

People are panicking.

Hunters are mobilizing.

Kael is giving commands.

"…Team A, north sector! Team B, east gate!"

Everything is chaotic.

---

Zerion and Luna stand on top of a tall building.

From there, the whole city is visible.

The Gates burn in the sky.

Luna said,

"…this isn't a coincidence."

Zerion nodded.

"…no. This is a setup."

Luna looked at him.

"A trap?"

"…yes."

"Then what?"

Zerion stayed silent for a moment.

Calculation in his eyes.

"…we play too."

Luna smiled slightly.

"…finally."

---

Suddenly—

One Gate tore open.

A massive creature emerged.

Black, distorted, with huge wings.

People screamed and ran.

Hunters attacked.

But—

The creature was powerful.

With one strike, three hunters were thrown away.

Luna said,

"…should we go?"

Zerion looked.

"…no."

Luna was surprised.

"No?"

Zerion said,

"…that's a distraction."

"What do you mean?"

Zerion looked elsewhere.

Another Gate.

Smaller.

But—

its energy was different.

"…there," he said.

Luna understood.

"…the real target."

Zerion nodded.

"…let's go."

---

They quickly reached the location.

An old alley.

No one around.

The Gate is small, but stable.

No light coming from inside.

Instead—

darkness.

Luna whispered,

"…this is different."

Zerion said,

"…yes."

He stepped forward.

Just then—

A voice.

"…good choice."

Both stopped.

A figure emerged from the darkness.

Black outfit.

Cold smile.

"…you're smarter than expected," he said.

Zerion looked at him.

"…are you one of the Observer's people?"

The man smiled.

"…no."

"…I am the Observer."

Silence.

Luna's body tensed.

Zerion remained still.

"…finally," he said.

The Observer stepped forward.

His presence—

unnatural.

As if reality itself bends around him.

"…you're making my job easier," he said.

Zerion asked,

"What job?"

The Observer replied,

"…bringing all the Fragments together."

Luna whispered,

"…he's using you…"

Zerion didn't respond.

The Observer continued,

"…you're special. So instead of destroying you… I'll use you."

Silence.

Zerion slowly smiled.

"…try."

A faint glint appeared in the Observer's eyes.

"…interesting."

He raised his hand.

The darkness from the Gate spread instantly.

The entire alley was covered.

Zerion stood still.

His aura began to rise.

Luna stepped back.

"…Zerion…"

Zerion said—

"…stay back."

An order in his voice.

Luna hesitated for a moment.

Then stepped back.

---

Darkness and light faced each other.

Observer and Zerion—

standing still.

Neither moved.

But—

everything around them trembled.

The Observer said,

"…let's see how much you've grown."

Zerion replied,

"…watch."

Both moved at the same time.

BOOM

Impact.

Power.

Destruction.

The entire area shook.

---

From a distance, Luna watched.

Fear in her eyes—

and trust.

"…Zerion…"

---

The Gates in the sky trembled.

The city trembled.

And—

a war has begun.

One that won't just affect a single city—

but the entire world.

Origin of the Infinite Worlds

Chapter 9 – The Hunters' World

Part 4

The entire alley is covered in darkness. The air is heavy, making it hard to breathe. It feels like this place is no longer part of the world—but another layer where only the clash of power is real.

Zerion and the Observer stand face to face.

An invisible pressure forms between them—as if reality itself is waiting to shatter.

The Observer moved first.

He raised his hand—

and instantly, the darkness condensed and rushed toward Zerion.

This wasn't just shadow.

It was compressed void energy.

If it touches—

existence itself could be erased.

But—

Zerion didn't move.

His eyes were cold.

He slowly said—

"…Disperse."

An invisible wave spread out.

The darkness stopped.

Then—

it shattered.

A slight surprise appeared in the Observer's eyes.

"…already at this level?"

Zerion said nothing.

He stepped forward.

With each step, the ground cracked.

His aura is now far heavier than before.

Creation, Destruction, Chaos—three powers merged together.

The Observer smiled.

"…good. Then I'll get serious too."

He spread both hands.

The entire alley trembled.

The surrounding space began to bend.

Buildings seemed to melt.

Reality broke apart, forming a massive void.

Luna stood at a distance, but she could feel it—

this is no longer a normal battle.

This is a clash of two existences.

---

Inside the void—

Zerion and the Observer faced each other again.

This time, nothing exists around them.

No ground, no sky.

Only endless emptiness.

The Observer said, "…everything here is under my control."

Zerion replied calmly, "…we'll see."

The Observer waved his hand—

in an instant, thousands of dark constructs formed.

Beasts, blades, chains—all rushed toward Zerion.

SHHHHH

The void trembled from the sound.

Zerion closed his eyes.

The power within him stabilized.

Then—

he opened them.

"…Collapse."

One word.

One command.

Everything stopped.

Then—

it broke apart.

The Observer fell silent.

His eyes fixed on Zerion.

"…you're evolving… very fast."

Zerion said, "…you're pushing me too."

The Observer smiled faintly.

"…then let me push you more."

He vanished.

Zerion instantly felt—

danger.

He turned—

but too late.

CRASH

A devastating blow.

Zerion was pushed back several meters.

The void trembled.

The Observer stood ahead.

"…reaction slow," he said.

Zerion looked at him coldly.

"…noted."

He vanished again.

This time—

the Observer couldn't react.

BOOM

He was struck.

The void shook again.

They both stood apart once more.

No breath, no fatigue—

only pure power.

---

In the real world—

Luna dropped to her knees.

Her body couldn't handle the pressure.

"…too much…"

Fear filled her eyes.

But she kept watching.

Because—

Zerion is there.

---

Inside the void—

The Observer said slowly, "…enough for today."

Zerion frowned.

"…running away?"

The Observer smiled.

"…no. Preparing."

He raised his hand.

The void began to break apart.

"…you're interesting," he said.

"…so I won't finish you now."

Zerion replied, "…next time I won't stop."

A strange light appeared in the Observer's eyes.

"…I don't want you to."

He stepped back.

His body began to merge into darkness.

"…collect the Fragments…"

"…grow stronger…"

"…then—come to me."

He disappeared.

---

The void collapsed.

Everything returned to normal.

The alley, the buildings, the night—all came back.

Zerion stood still.

His body unharmed.

But his eyes—

even deeper now.

Luna slowly approached him.

"…are you okay?"

Zerion nodded.

"…yes."

Luna stayed silent for a moment, then said, "…he's very strong."

Zerion looked at the sky.

"…yes."

He paused.

Then said—

"…but not enough."

Luna smiled slightly.

"…you're crazy."

Zerion said, "…no."

He clenched his fist.

The Fragment power within him awakened.

"…I've just begun."

---

In the distance—

the Gates in the sky slowly began to close.

The city started to calm down again.

But—

this peace is temporary.

Because—

a war has already begun.

And its end—

is still far away.

---

Somewhere else—

a dark place.

The Observer stood.

In front of him, a massive structure—

made of Fragments.

He said slowly—

"…Zerion…"

A smile formed on his lips.

"…grow faster."

"…because the end…"

"…is with me."

The darkness thickened.

And—

a new game has begun.

(°_°)

The war didn't end—

it only revealed its true players.

And this time…

there will be no one left to watch.
