Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Life Core Activation

Eden stared face to face with the Inhumane Level anti-human.

This was a threat that would take at least three D-ranks to defeat, or two D-ranks and one powerful E-rank.

Eden, on the other hand, who couldn't even sense his energy level, was in no place to fight this monstrosity.

"What the hell have I gotten myself into? At least my injuries are healed," Eden thought as he looked at his perfectly healed body.

He didn't face this in his past life, and he couldn't seem to comprehend why he was facing it now.

"It doesn't matter. I will just find a way to escape," Eden mumbled.

He immediately turned around and fled, but how could a guy who could not activate the power of his life core run away from an Inhumane Level threat?

BOOM

The anti-human crashed into him, sending him flying. He crashed into a hill, which then sent dust flying everywhere.

After the dust settled, Eden could be seen, alive but barely hanging on. He had lots of broken and fractured bones, and they seemed to be regenerating at an astonishing rate.

"Huh, you regenerate faster than some anti-humans, yet I can't sense any energy from you," the anti-human said in a hoarse voice.

"Did that anti-human just talk?" Eden thought. "How is that even possible?"

"Oh well, I guess I will just kill you and find out how."

After the anti-human spoke, it rushed toward Eden.

"Get up, you got to get up," Eden mumbled as he looked at the anti-human rushing at him.

Crash.

"Fuck," Eden said as he crashed into a tree.

The anti-human did not hesitate and rushed at him again.

Eden was in bad shape. The pain he felt all over his body was insane. The parts of his body that might have managed to regenerate were broken or fractured again

.

"God, I have to kill this thing or get away somehow," Eden said.

Everything seemed to play in slow motion as he stared at the on rushing anti-human.

BOOM

The anti-human crashed into the tree that Eden was leaning on, but Eden had managed to dodge.

Eden wasted no time and began to run. He ran at his fastest speed, even with his fractured and broken legs, though they were also regenerating.

"Damn, I can't let him get away that easily," the anti-human said.

It planted its foot in the ground and pushed.

BOOM

The anti-human rushed at Eden. Eden looked back and saw the anti-human gradually gaining ground.

"Damnit, I need more speed!!!" Eden shouted and pushed with all he had as he desperately tried to run away.

The anti-human was getting closer and closer. It raised its hand and slashed at Eden's back.

"Urgh," Eden coughed out blood as he fell desperately to the ground.

Eden's body shook from the pain. Tears filled his eyes as he stared at the anti-human standing over him.

In its place, the face of his brother kept interchanging.

"Am I really going to die here? I was given a second chance and I still couldn't take it," Eden thought.

The anti-human raised its fist to give one final blow.

"All the things I've suffered in my past life, to be given another chance, and yet I still can't take it."

The anti-human moved its fist as it got closer and closer to Eden.

"No, I will not die here. I will fight, for I was given a second chance," Eden thought.

"And I am going to take it!!!" Eden shouted.

BOOM

The fist landed, sending a shockwave that destroyed everything within a ten-meter radius.

Spider-like cracks could be seen on the ground within that radius.

It seemed the anti-human put a lot of effort into that punch.

While the anti-human's fist was still on the ground, he noticed it starting to rise, but it was not under his control.

Eden, under the fist of the anti-human, was seen raising it into the air.

His fists had turned into stone as he raised the fist up.

"Earth Element, Skill 1: Crushing Boulder."

Eden, while using one hand to hold the fist, used the other to slam it into the ground and pull out a huge boulder. He then swung it at the anti-human.

BOOM

"You insect, you wouldn't just die—" He hadn't finished his sentence when he stared at the place where Eden was standing before he was no longer there.

The anti-human immediately looked to his left.

He saw Eden skipping through the air.

"Wind Element, Skill 3: Tornado."

The tornado sliced at the body and skin of the anti-human.

"Damn you," the anti-human said.

Then it rushed toward Eden.

"Let's finish this," Eden said.

His pupils, which were silver in color before, became red. Flames could be seen burning on his hands, but not burning through them.

"Fire Element, Skill 2: Magma Blade."

A blade made of magma formed in his hands as he rushed toward the anti-human.

The anti-human, noticing something was not right, tried to run away, but it was too late.

Slash.

He was cut in two by the blade, then he exploded into ashes.

Far away at the entrance to the target zone,

Teacher Ben felt an energy output of ninety.

What was that powerful energy, and who was the person who could release energy of that magnitude?

Eden's pupils went back to normal as he collapsed on the floor.

"Damn."

After he stayed there for a while, he immediately got up and left the area.

As soon as he left, Adam and his group arrived.

"It seems they have gone," Aaron said.

"It seems that way. Spread out. I don't think they would have gotten that far,"

Adam gave the command, and they all left in different directions, leaving Adam and Aaron standing there.

"Whatever that thing was, it was very strong to give out an energy output that high," Aaron said.

"I know."

Adam was quite worried. Even he, at A-rank, could only give out an energy output of about seventy, and that was already good for an A-rank.

"What the hell were we dealing with?" Adam thought.
