Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 The Girl the Alpha Couldn’t Touch

The arena had gone silent.

A silence so heavy it felt like the entire university was holding its breath.

One hundred students had entered the battlefield.

Now barely thirty remained standing.

And at the center of it all stood two figures facing each other.

Selene Valkrith.

And Alpha heir Kael Draven.

The future Ruthless Alpha King.

Kael rolled his shoulders slowly, crimson eyes glowing brighter as his wolf instincts sharpened.

For the first time since entering the arena…

He felt excitement.

Real excitement.

Not the dull boredom of crushing weaker opponents.

But the thrill of a real fight.

He stared at Selene carefully.

The quiet witch stood perfectly calm, hands still resting inside her coat pockets.

No magic circle.

No defensive stance.

No fear.

That alone made Kael smile.

"You're either very brave," he said slowly.

"Or very stupid."

Selene's silver eyes remained steady.

"Those aren't the only possibilities."

Murmurs spread through the crowd.

Students watching from the arena stands leaned forward eagerly.

No one talked to Kael Draven like that.

Not if they valued their bones.

Raven watched from the edge of the battlefield, leaning casually against a cracked stone pillar.

Her golden eyes gleamed with amusement.

"Oh this is fun."

Blood dripped slowly from a cut above her eyebrow, but she didn't care.

Her focus was entirely on the strange girl who had become her roommate less than twenty-four hours ago.

Selene Valkrith.

The girl who hadn't thrown a single punch…

But somehow dominated the battlefield.

Raven muttered quietly,

"What the hell are you…"

Kael cracked his neck.

The sound echoed through the arena like thunder.

"You dodged my first attack."

His voice was calm now.

Controlled.

"But that was a warning."

Selene tilted her head slightly.

"Was it?"

Kael's wolf growled.

Students watching nearby quickly backed away.

Because they could feel it.

The air was changing.

The pressure in the arena was rising.

And whenever Kael Draven lost his patience…

Things got violent.

In the observation balcony above the battlefield…

Headmaster Lucien watched with interest.

His ancient vampire senses focused entirely on Selene.

"Fascinating," he murmured.

Professor Lyra frowned beside him.

"She still hasn't used magic."

Lucien smiled.

"No."

His golden eyes gleamed.

"She hasn't needed to."

Back in the arena—

Kael attacked again.

But this time…

He wasn't holding back.

The ground shattered beneath his feet as he launched forward like a cannon.

Gasps erupted through the crowd.

Even veteran vampires struggled to track his speed.

His claw aimed directly for Selene's throat.

A strike capable of tearing steel apart.

But Selene moved.

Not fast.

Not flashy.

Just…

Precise.

She stepped sideways.

Kael's claw sliced through empty air again.

His eyes widened slightly.

Impossible.

Selene raised one hand calmly.

Then—

She tapped Kael's wrist.

Just a light touch.

But the moment her fingers connected…

Kael felt something strange.

A sudden numbness shot through his arm.

His muscles refused to move.

For a split second—

The future Alpha King froze.

The entire arena gasped.

Kael immediately jumped backward, shaking his arm.

His wolf growled loudly inside his chest.

That wasn't magic.

He knew magic.

This was something else.

Something… older.

His crimson eyes narrowed.

"You're not a normal witch."

Selene answered calmly.

"I never said I was."

The remaining students stared at her in shock.

Some whispered.

Some backed away.

Because the truth was becoming obvious.

The quiet scholarship student…

Was dangerous.

Very dangerous.

Raven clapped slowly from across the battlefield.

"Okay."

She grinned widely.

"I officially like my roommate."

Kael stepped forward again.

But this time…

He wasn't smiling.

His instincts screamed something important.

This girl…

Was hiding her real strength.

And Kael Draven hated mysteries.

"Last chance," he said.

"Show me your magic."

Selene looked at him quietly.

Then she slowly removed her hands from her pockets.

The arena immediately became silent again.

Students leaned forward.

Waiting.

Watching.

Selene Valkrith finally raised her hand.

Silver light flickered faintly in her palm.

Not a spell.

Not exactly.

Just a tiny fragment of the sealed power sleeping inside her.

Enough to send chills down every supernatural spine in the arena.

Above the battlefield…

Lucien's golden eyes widened slightly.

"Oh…"

He leaned forward.

"Now this is interesting."

Kael felt it too.

His wolf reacted instantly.

Growling.

Warning him.

Predator instincts recognizing something ancient.

Something dangerous.

Something that shouldn't exist.

But Kael didn't step back.

Instead—

He smiled.

A wild, excited smile.

Finally.

A real fight.

The ground cracked beneath his feet again as Kael launched forward for the third time.

But this time…

Selene moved first.

Her silver eyes flashed.

The sealed power inside her stirred slightly.

Just a fraction.

Just enough.

The air around her twisted.

And suddenly—

Kael stopped.

Mid-attack.

Frozen.

Not by chains.

Not by magic.

But by pure pressure.

An invisible force pressing down on his instincts.

The entire arena felt it.

A terrifying presence.

Cold.

Ancient.

Royal.

Students across the battlefield staggered.

Some even fell to their knees.

Vampires.

Wolves.

Witches.

All felt it.

A power that demanded submission.

But Selene released it instantly.

Like it had never existed.

Kael landed on the ground, staring at her.

Shocked.

Confused.

And strangely…

Thrilled.

"You…" he whispered.

Selene simply turned and began walking toward the arena exit.

The battle was already finished.

Only twenty students remained standing.

Including her.

Professor Lyra raised her voice.

"The test is over!"

The arena barrier dropped.

Students immediately erupted into excited conversations.

Everyone had seen it.

Everyone was talking about it.

The mysterious silver-eyed witch who fought the Alpha heir without even trying.

Raven jogged over to Selene, laughing loudly.

"You realize you just embarrassed the strongest wolf in the university, right?"

Selene continued walking.

"I didn't embarrass him."

Raven grinned.

"Oh?"

Selene glanced at her calmly.

"He attacked me."

Behind them—

Kael Draven stood silently in the arena.

His crimson eyes watched Selene's back as she walked away.

His wolf instincts were still restless.

Because deep inside…

Something had recognized her.

Not as prey.

Not as rival.

But as something far more dangerous.

Something that made even Alpha Kings hesitate.

Far beneath the university…

The ancient chamber cracked again.

Dust fell from the stone ceiling.

And the whisper returned.

"She awakens…"

Because Selene Valkrith had only released a tiny fraction of her sealed power.

But even that tiny glimpse had shaken the entire arena.

And if such a small fragment could dominate supernatural heirs…

What would happen when the Tribrid Queen finally unleashed her full power?
