Caleb's POV
I jerk back instinctively as an uninvited touch lands on my arm. Stella stands there with that calculating smile I've grown to despise, her fingers trailing where they shouldn't be.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" The words come out harsher than intended, but I don't care. She doesn't seem fazed by my tone, that predatory gleam still dancing in her eyes.
"I came to discuss my father's proposals with you," she purrs, her hand creeping higher toward my shoulder. The contact makes my skin crawl. I grab her wrist and remove it with more force than necessary.
"We don't have any scheduled meetings today. Keep your hands to yourself. What's your real game here?" My patience has worn completely thin with her constant advances.
She drops her gaze, suddenly playing the innocent act, twisting her fingers together like a shy schoolgirl. The performance is pathetic.
