Riley's POV
I pivot around and press my back against the table just as Caleb approaches, effectively trapping me between his body and the wooden surface. The heat radiating from him makes my pulse quicken.
"You look absolutely stunning tonight," he murmurs, his voice low and intimate as he brushes his lips against my cheek in a featherlight kiss.
Unable to resist, I capture his mouth with mine. The moment our lips connect, everything else fades away. The noise, the crowd, the anxiety - it all disappears as I lose myself in the intoxicating sensation of his kiss.
Our moment is brutally interrupted when Jace appears out of nowhere, practically yanking Caleb away from me with zero regard for subtlety.
"Save the romance for later, lover boy! Right now we party!" Jace bellows at the top of his lungs, emphasizing the word party with such enthusiasm that the entire house erupts in whoops and cheers.
