Chapter 56 - Broken Vows

Broken Vows

The door creaked open.

Ryan Alessandro wasn't supposed to be here. He knew that. But something—instinct, suspicion, or maybe fate—dragged him to this very room.

And what he saw…

…shattered him.

Arabella.

On the bed.

Not alone.

Another man's hands were on her, their bodies tangled together in a way that burned Ryan's eyes like fire.

For a moment, the world went silent.

No sound. No breath. No heartbeat.

Just pain.

Arabella froze when she saw him. But it wasn't guilt that filled her eyes.

It was irritation.

"…Ryan?" she said, her voice cold, as if he were the one who had done something wrong.

Ryan's hands trembled at his sides. His chest tightened painfully, like something inside him was breaking apart piece by piece.

"Ara…" his voice cracked. "Tell me this isn't real."

The man beside her scoffed, completely unbothered.

Arabella slowly sat up, not even bothering to cover herself properly. Her expression turned sharp—cruel.

"Oh, it's real," she said.

Each word was like a knife.

Ryan staggered a step back.

"No…" he whispered.

Then she laughed.

A soft, mocking laugh that destroyed whatever hope he had left.

"I never loved you, Ryan," she said bluntly. "Not before. Not now. Not ever."

Silence.

The words echoed in his head, over and over again.

I never loved you.

Something inside him snapped.

His gaze slowly shifted to the man on the bed.

The man smirked. "What? You gonna cry?"

That was the last mistake he made.

In a blur of rage and heartbreak, Ryan moved.

A single strike.

Brutal.

Deadly.

The man didn't even have time to react before he collapsed onto the bed—lifeless.

Blood spread across the white sheets.

Arabella screamed.

But Ryan didn't even look at her.

His breathing was heavy, uneven. His hands were stained red—but he felt nothing.

Nothing except the hollow emptiness consuming him from the inside.

"…You said you never loved me," he murmured, his voice eerily calm.

Arabella stared at him, fear finally replacing her arrogance.

Ryan let out a broken laugh.

"Funny… I was ready to give you everything."

He turned away.

Step by step, he walked toward the door.

No anger left.

No love left.

Just emptiness.

By the time he reached the hallway, Ryan Alessandro was no longer the same man who walked in.

Something inside him had died in that room.

And what remained…

…was something far more dangerous.
