Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The First Hunt

The world didn't wait.

The moment that voice echoed—

"You are seen."

Everything broke.

💥 Impact

Aarav slammed into the ground.

Not pushed.

Not thrown.

Pressed.

Like something invisible had dropped on him from above.

His chest tightened.

Breathing became hard.

"…I can't—move…" he gasped.

The mark on his hand burned violently.

Brighter than ever before.

👁️ They Arrive

The cracks in the air spread.

One.

Two.

Ten.

Dozens.

All around them.

And from each crack—

Something crawled out.

Figures.

Twisted.

Broken.

Wrong.

Not fully solid.

Not fully real.

But very much alive.

Aarav's eyes widened.

"…There's more of them…"

The girl stepped in front of him.

Her voice tight.

"They've never sent this many before."

⚔️ Surrounded

The creatures moved slowly at first.

Crawling.

Dragging.

But their attention—

Was locked on Aarav.

"…Why are they looking at me?" he whispered.

The answer came from behind him.

"They're not looking at you."

The man's voice.

Calm.

Unshaken.

"They're correcting you."

⚡ First Strike

One of the creatures lunged.

Too fast to react.

Aarav froze.

But before it could reach him—

CRACK.

The creature split in half mid-air.

Not cut.

Not hit.

Erased.

Aarav blinked.

"…What just happened?"

The man lowered his hand slowly.

"…Stay down," he said.

👁️ Power Revealed

The creatures paused.

For a moment—

Even they hesitated.

Then—

They attacked together.

💣 Chaos

Everything exploded into motion.

Creatures rushed from all directions.

The girl raised her hand—

And the air shattered again.

A wave of invisible force burst outward.

Several creatures vanished instantly.

But more kept coming.

"Too many!" she shouted.

The man stepped forward.

Finally serious.

"…Move."

Aarav didn't argue.

He dragged himself back.

⚔️ The Hunter Moves

The man raised his hand again.

But this time—

Something changed.

The space around him—

Collapsed.

Like reality bent inward.

And then—

He moved.

Too fast to see.

One moment he was standing still—

The next—

He was behind three creatures.

They didn't even react.

Until—

They disappeared.

No sound.

No resistance.

Just gone.

Aarav's breath caught.

"…What is he?"

🩸 The Cost

But something was wrong.

The more the man moved—

The more the cracks in the air widened.

The world was reacting again.

"You're making it worse," the girl said sharply.

The man didn't stop.

"…It was already worse."

Another wave of creatures rushed in.

Stronger this time.

Faster.

One slipped past them.

Straight toward Aarav.

⚠️ Direct Target

Aarav tried to move—

But his body wouldn't respond.

The creature reached him.

Its form stretching—

Breaking—

Reaching for his face—

Aarav's vision blurred.

"…Is this it…?"

⚡ The Witch's Choice

"NO!"

The girl moved instantly.

Faster than before.

She placed herself between Aarav and the creature—

And grabbed it.

For a split second—

Time stopped again.

The air cracked violently.

And then—

Something new happened.

The creature didn't disappear.

It screamed.

Not like before.

Like it was resisting.

The girl's eyes widened.

"…It's adapting."

💥 Breaking Point

The creature twisted in her grip—

And struck.

A sharp slash—

Across her arm.

Blood.

Real.

Aarav's eyes snapped open.

"…You're hurt—!"

She staggered back slightly.

Breathing uneven.

"…This isn't good," she whispered.

The man appeared beside them instantly.

Expression dark.

"They've escalated."

A pause.

Then he said—

"We need to leave."

🏃 Retreat

More cracks formed.

More creatures crawled out.

Endless.

"This way," the man said.

The girl grabbed Aarav's arm.

And this time—

He didn't hesitate.

They ran.

Behind them—

The creatures followed.

Faster.

Closer.

And above them—

That unseen presence—

Watched.

Waiting.
