ci-n: jay were sor...
jay: NO YOUR NOT CI-N
Then suddenly… a familiar voice.
"Jay."
I froze.
My heart stopped for a second before it started pounding harder than before. Slowly… I turned around.
There he was.
Jare.
Standing at the entrance, eyes locked on me, his expression unreadable—but I could feel it… the tension, the anger, the worry.
My fingers clenched slightly. "So now you show up?"
He didn't answer immediately. Instead, he walked closer, each step slow and steady.
"am sorry he said quietly.
I let out a bitter laugh. "Oh really? That's funny coming from you."
The room went silent. Even Jeana didn't speak.
"You ignored me for two years," I continued, my voice shaking but firm. "Two years, Jare. No calls. No messages. Nothing."
His jaw tightened.
"I thought…" I swallowed hard. "I thought I lost you too."
For a second, something in his expression cracked.
I looked away, refusing to let my tears fall again. "But I guess I was just stupid or bring used again "
"Jay—"
"Don't," I cut him off sharply. "Don't say my name like everything's okay."
Silence. Heavy. Suffocating.
Behind me, I felt Percy shift slightly, still close—still there.
Jare finally spoke again, his voice lower now. "You're not stupid or being used"
I didn't respond.
"You were hurt," he continued. "And I should've been there."
I clenched my fists. "You should have."
Another pause.
Then he stepped closer. "I'm here now."
I shook my head slightly. "That doesn't fix anything."
"No," he admitted. "It doesn't."
That surprised me.
"I can't change the past," he said. "But I'm not leaving again."
I stayed silent, my emotions clashing inside me—anger, pain, and something else I didn't want to admit.
The room was still watching. Section E… guilty. Jeana… tense. Kuya Angelo… silent.
Everything felt like it was closing in.
But this time…
I wasn't running.
Before I could stop myself, I rushed forward.
My hand shot up—
I grabbed Jare's ear hard and twisted it.
"Ow—Jay!"
"Don't!" I snapped, my voice shaking with anger. "Don't act like nothing happened!"
The whole room froze.
"You ignored me for TWO YEARS!" I yelled. "Two years, Jare! You don't get to just come back and say 'I'm here now' like it fixes everything!"
Jare didn't pull away. He didn't even try to stop me.
Instead—
He lifted me effortlessly, my body rising as my legs wrapped around his waist, holding me close in front of everyone.
A gasp echoed in the room.
Section E went silent.
Kiefer stiffened.
Yuri's eyes darkened.
Jeana froze.
Percy didn't move—but I could feel his presence right behind me.
Jare's grip tightened slightly, steady and firm. "You're angry," he said quietly.
"Of course I am!" I snapped, still holding onto him. "You all left me! Every single one of you!"
My chest heaved as I turned my head, glaring at everyone.
"Kiefer," I said sharply. "I f HATE YOU DONT EVER COME CLOSE TO ME EVER"
Then Yuri. "And you… I don't love you. Not now. Not ever."
Then Section E.
"I didn't do anything bad to you," I said, my voice shaking but strong. "All I remember is that I always helped you. And this… this is how you repay me?"
No one answered.
They couldn't.
The guilt was written all over their faces.
My grip on Jare tightened as I pointed.
"This," I said, my voice cold, "is my twin brother."
Then I turned slightly.
"And him?" I nodded toward Percy. "My stepbrother."
Shock spread across the room.
Kiefer's jaw clenched, jealousy burning in his eyes i didnt know why.
Yuri's expression darkened.
felix was schoked.
Jeana's face went pale.
I leaned slightly into Jare, refusing to let go.
Then his voice cut through the silence.
"The engagement is over."
Yuri stepped forward immediately. "No! You can't—"
"I can," Jare said calmly.
Yuri's breathing became uneven, anger rising. "You think this ends here? I'll make Fer Cop pay
The tension snapped.
Jare didn't even flinch.
Instead, his voice dropped—cold, controlled.
"Am I Marino… Mr. Hanmitchi?"
Silence.
Yuri froze.
Then—his phone rang.
Everyone turned.
Slowly, Yuri answered. "...Hello?"
A pause.
Then his face changed.
"Grandpa?"
Silence filled the room as we all watched.
His expression went from anger… to confusion…
Then shock.
"What do you mean…?"
Another pause.
"No… that's not possible…"
His hand trembled slightly.
"Bankrupt…?"
The word echoed.
"The Marino company…?"
The room went completely silent.
I tightened my hold on Jare without even realizing it.
For the first time—
Yuri looked… powerless.
And for the first time in years—
I didn't feel weak anymore.
felix: k.. k.. kuya
percy: later bud
The silence after Yuri's call was suffocating.
No one moved. No one spoke.
Then Jare shifted slightly, still holding me securely.
He looked straight at Kuya Angelo.
"I'm taking Jay," he said, voice calm but firm.
My heart skipped.
Kuya Angelo hesitated, clearly caught between everything happening.
Before he could answer—
"NO."
Jeana's voice cut through the room.
She stepped forward quickly, her eyes sharp, desperate. "You're not taking her anywhere."
I stiffened slightly in Jare's arms, confused and irritated. "Since when do you get to decide that?"
Her gaze snapped to me. "Because I'm your mother."
A bitter feeling rose in my chest. "Funny. You didn't act like one before."
The room tensed again.
Jare's hold on me tightened just slightly. "Move," he said coldly.
Jeana didn't.
Instead, she stepped closer, her voice lowering. "You don't understand what you're doing."
Jare's eyes darkened. "I understand enough."
For a split second—just a second—something passed between them.
Something I didn't understand.
Something heavy.
I frowned slightly, looking between them. "What are you talking about?"
No one answered.
Percy, standing behind us, went completely still.
Jare didn't look away from Jeana. "She's coming with me."
Jeana's voice shook now, but she tried to stay strong. "You think you can just take her? After everything?"
My patience snapped. "After everything? You mean after YOU did nothing?"
She flinched.
Good.
I tightened my grip around Jare, refusing to let go. "I'm going with him."
Silence.
Jeana's hands trembled slightly at her sides. She looked at me like she wanted to say something—something important—but stopped herself.
Like she was hiding something.
I felt it.
But I didn't understand it.
Jare finally stepped forward. "We're leaving."
For a moment, it felt like Jeana might stop us again—
But she didn't move.
She just stood there… frozen.
Watching.
As if she had already lost something she couldn't get back.
Jare walked past her, still holding me tightly, Percy following right behind us.
And I didn't look back.
Jare carried me outside, the cold air hitting my face as we stepped out of the house.
I still didn't let go.
I didn't want to.
Percy followed behind us, quiet this time.
Too quiet… but I didn't think much of it.
My head was still full of everything that happened—Kiefer… Section E… my mother…
Jare stopped when we reached the car.
"Open it," he said to Percy.
Percy nodded and quickly unlocked the door.
Jare gently placed me down, but I still held onto his shirt, not ready to let go.
"I'm here," he said softly.
I nodded slightly, wiping my face. I didn't want to cry again.
Not in front of them.
Percy handed me a bottle of water. "Drink."
I took it without arguing, my hands still shaking a little.
For a moment, no one spoke.
Jare's eyes flickered slightly—just for a second—toward Percy.
A silent look passed between them.
Serious.
Heavy.
But it was gone before I could even notice.
I just leaned back slightly, exhausted.
"I'm tired…" I whispered.
Jare didn't hesitate. "Then rest."
Percy closed the car door gently after me.
"I'll drive," he said.
Jare nodded once, then got in beside me.
The car started moving.
No one talked.
And for once…
I didn't ask anything.
I just closed my eyes, letting the silence take over.
Because right now—
I didn't want answers.
I just wanted everything to stop hurting.
