The car was quiet.
Too quiet.
I leaned my head back, closing my eyes, trying to stop everything from replaying in my mind.
Kiefer's words.Section E's silence.My mother's slap.
It all felt too heavy.
"I'm not going to school," I said quietly.
Jare looked at me. "For how long?"
I opened my eyes slowly. "Two days… I just… I need two days."
Percy didn't say anything, but I saw his grip tighten on the steering wheel.
"I can't face them right now," I continued. "Not Kiefer… not Section E… not anyone."
My voice cracked slightly, but I forced myself to stay calm.
"I just need time."
Silence filled the car for a moment.
Then Jare nodded. "Fine."
I blinked, a little surprised.
"Take your two days," he said. "No one's forcing you."
Percy finally spoke, his voice steady. "We'll handle everything."
I frowned slightly. "Handle what?"
"Nothing," Percy said quickly. "Just rest."
I didn't think much of it.
I was too tired to.
I looked out the window, watching the city pass by in a blur.
"Exams are in two months anyway," I muttered. "It's not like I'm missing anything important."
Jare didn't respond.
But I felt it—
That same quiet tension between him and Percy.
Gone before I could notice.
I leaned back again, closing my eyes.
Two days.
Just two days to breathe…
Before I had to face everything again
The mansion felt quiet once we stepped inside—just Jare, Percy, and me.
Percy set down the bag he carried, glancing at me. "I'll have to leave for a bit… some things to handle."
I felt my chest tighten. "Wait… when… when could I meet my real father?" I asked softly, trying not to sound too desperate.
Percy hesitated, avoiding my eyes for a moment. "Soon," he said finally, keeping his voice steady but careful.
"Soon?" I whispered, feeling tears sting my eyes.
"Yes… soon," he repeated, a little firmer.
I let out a shuddering breath and broke down completely, the tears falling freely now. "I… I just… I don't understand anything anymore…"
Jare came closer, sitting beside me and wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Shh… it's okay. I'm here. Percy's here. You're safe."
But the tears didn't stop.
I hid my face against Jare's chest, letting all the anger, sadness, and pain from before pour out.
Percy stayed nearby, quietly watching, giving me space—but I knew he was there too.
For the first time in hours… I felt a little safe.
Kiefer(pov)
we went to the frendnaze house to see jay becouse angleo told jay was missing
jay my queen were are you please come am sorry
then my queen came but she looked diffrent she wasnt the girl i now she looked dangrouse
then suddnley someone came they both talked like about they didnt see eacother after 2 years then suddnley jay ran to him and twist his ears ow then he carried MY JAY LIKE SHE DOSENT WIGHT ANYTHIN JEOULSY SNAPPED THROUGH ME who is this guy? and we is carrying jay like that? then he told angleo he staking jay oh fuking hell no but that was jays twinbrother jare and percy jays stepbrother atleast they are better than aries
but jay please dont give up on me i know you hate me but please dont i love until the scientes find the end of the universty.
