Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 First Mission

Chapter 7: First Objectives

The night didn't stay quiet.

Avon lay still in his bed, eyes open, listening.

The wind moved softly outside.

Branches shifted.

Somewhere in the distance—

A low howl.

Not loud.

Not aggressive.

Controlled.

Avon didn't react right away.

He just listened.

Then—

[New Mission Available]

The words appeared without warning.

Clean.

Sharp.

Avon's eyes focused.

[Main Mission]

Objective: Eliminate or Capture the Wolf

Reward: Unknown

A brief pause—

Then another window appeared.

[Daily Mission]

Run or Walk: 1 Mile

Push-ups: 20

Sit-ups: 20

Meditation: 10 Minutes

Reward: +5 Attribute Points

The screen hovered for a moment.

Then faded.

Avon blinked once.

"…There it is."

Not surprising.

Just confirmation.

This world had rules.

And now—

So did he.

He turned his head slightly toward the window.

The wolf again.

Same direction as before.

Same distance.

Pattern.

Avon closed his eyes.

Not to sleep.

To think.

Main mission.

Daily mission.

One gave long-term reward.

The other—

Consistency.

"Five points a day…"

That added up fast.

If he stayed consistent—

He wouldn't be average for long.

A faint smirk appeared.

"…Yeah."

Now the game had started.

Morning came quickly.

Avon was already awake.

No hesitation.

No delay.

"System."

The screen appeared instantly this time.

He looked at the daily mission.

Simple.

But not easy.

Especially in a five-year-old body.

Good.

That meant growth.

He stepped outside before anyone could stop him.

The air was still cool.

The ground slightly damp.

Perfect.

He started with walking.

Slow at first.

Then steady.

One step.

Then another.

No rushing.

No wasting energy.

He moved along the edge of the farm, following the same path he studied yesterday.

Every step had purpose.

Every movement counted.

His body felt small.

Limited.

But that didn't matter.

His mind didn't change.

By the time he finished the mile—

His breathing was heavier.

But controlled.

"Next…"

He dropped to the ground.

Push-ups.

The first few were easy.

Then—

Not so much.

His arms trembled halfway through.

His body wasn't built for this yet.

Good.

That meant it needed to be.

He finished.

Barely.

Then rolled onto his back.

Sit-ups.

Slower.

More controlled.

Every rep burned.

But he didn't stop.

Not even when his body wanted him to.

When it was done—

He stayed there for a second.

Breathing.

Then sat up.

"Last one…"

Meditation.

He crossed his legs.

Closed his eyes.

And focused.

Not on breathing.

On awareness.

Sounds.

Movement.

The wind.

The animals.

Footsteps in the distance.

And faintly—

That same direction.

The wolf.

He opened his eyes.

"…Found you."

The system appeared again.

[Daily Mission Complete]

+5 Attribute Points Awarded

Avon didn't celebrate.

He focused.

"Status."

The screen appeared.

Five points.

Not much.

But enough to matter.

He paused.

Then distributed them.

Not evenly.

Strategically.

More into strength.

Some into dexterity.

He needed movement.

Control.

Not raw power.

The screen faded.

Avon stood up.

Now—

The real objective.

The wolf.

He moved toward the edge of the farm again.

This time—

Not observing.

Investigating.

He crouched near the same spot as yesterday.

Tracks still faintly visible.

But now—

He noticed something else.

Spacing.

The wolf didn't rush in.

It paused.

Waited.

Then moved.

Smart.

Avon followed the trail carefully.

Not stepping directly on the prints.

Not making noise.

Slow.

Patient.

The trail led toward the tree line.

He stopped just before entering.

Not yet.

He looked ahead.

Shadows between trees.

Tall grass shifting slightly.

Unknown territory.

A faint smile formed.

"…Good."

More information.

More variables.

More to learn.

He stepped back.

Not retreating.

Resetting.

Because rushing in blind—

Was how people died.

Even with regeneration.

He turned and walked back toward the house.

Calm.

Focused.

Because now—

He had a plan.

Study the pattern.

Control the encounter.

Then strike.
