Chapter 20 - like it always meant to be

Days passed.

Then weeks.

And slowly…

Without anyone noticing…

It became normal.

Too normal.

Jay entering his house…

Without knocking.

Without asking.

Like she belonged there.

And Keifer…

Walking into her house…

Like it was his own.

No hesitation.

No awkwardness.

Just… ease.

Morning.

Serina stood in the kitchen.

Preparing breakfast.

She turned—

And stopped.

Jay stood there.

Hair messy.

Half asleep.

"Ma…"

Serina blinked.

"You came?"

Jay yawned.

"I was hungry."

Serina laughed softly.

"Of course."

Jay walked in.

Sat casually.

Like she lived there.

"Where's he?"

Serina smiled knowingly.

"Still sleeping."

Jay frowned.

"Lazy."

She stood up.

"I'll wake him."

Serina raised a brow.

"Go."

Jay walked upstairs.

Without thinking.

Without stopping.

She opened his door.

Slowly.

Keifer lay on the bed.

Peaceful.

Completely unaware.

Jay walked in.

Arms crossed.

"Keifer…"

No response.

She stepped closer.

"Wake up."

Nothing.

She sighed.

Then suddenly—

Pulled his blanket.

Keifer groaned.

"Jay…"

Still eyes closed.

"Go away…"

Jay smirked.

"Get up."

Keifer turned.

"Five minutes…"

Jay leaned down.

"No."

Keifer slowly opened his eyes.

Saw her.

Paused.

Then smiled.

"You're here."

Jay rolled her eyes.

"Yes."

"Now get up."

Keifer stretched lazily.

"You came just to wake me?"

Jay smirked.

"And to eat your food."

Keifer chuckled.

"Thief."

Jay shrugged.

"Your food is better."

Keifer sat up.

"Or you just like coming here."

Jay didn't answer.

But her smile said enough.

Later…

Keifer walked into Jay's house.

No knocking.

No hesitation.

"Ma?"

Jeena looked up.

"Oh, you're here."

Keifer nodded.

"Where's Jay?"

Jeena smiled.

"Room."

Keifer walked straight upstairs.

Like it was routine.

Like it was normal.

He knocked once.

Then entered.

Jay sat on her bed.

Scrolling her phone.

She looked up.

"You came."

Keifer leaned on the door.

"Of course."

Jay raised a brow.

"Missed me?"

Keifer smirked.

"Maybe."

Jay smiled.

"Liar."

Keifer walked in.

Sat beside her.

Close.

Comfortable.

No distance.

No formality.

Jay showed him something on her phone.

Keifer leaned closer.

Their shoulders touching.

Natural.

Effortless.

Downstairs…

Jeena and Serina sat together.

Watching everything.

Quietly.

Jeena smiled softly.

"Look at them."

Serina nodded.

"They don't even realize."

Jeena laughed gently.

"It feels like they've always been like this."

Serina's eyes softened.

"Like they belong."

A pause.

Peaceful.

Warm.

Upstairs…

Jay leaned back.

Relaxed.

Keifer beside her.

Talking.

Laughing.

Sharing random things.

Nothing special.

But everything felt special.

Jay suddenly spoke.

"You're always here now."

Keifer looked at her.

"So are you."

Jay smiled.

"True."

A small silence.

Then softly…

"It feels normal."

Keifer nodded.

"Yeah."

"Too normal."

Jay looked at him.

"Is that bad?"

Keifer shook his head.

"No."

A pause.

Then quietly…

"It's perfect."

Jay's smile softened.

She didn't reply.

Didn't need to.

Because both of them knew…

This wasn't forced anymore.

This wasn't arranged anymore.

This was theirs.

Built slowly.

Naturally.

And now…

It felt like…

They were always meant to be like this.
