Chapter 22 - Episode 5: The Lie That Breaks Hearts

Morning arrived… but not peace.

Anaya stood in the garden.

Quiet.

Thinking.

Kabir's words kept repeating in her mind.

"He knows too much…"

Suddenly—

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

A message arrived:

"If you want to know who Kabir Malhotra really is… come alone."

Location attached.

Anaya froze.

Her heartbeat slowed.

"Kabir… hiding something?"

She hesitated.

But curiosity won.

Meanwhile—

Kabir was in a meeting.

Busy.

Distracted.

He didn't notice Anaya leaving.

The location was an old warehouse.

Silent.

Abandoned.

Anaya stepped inside carefully.

"Hello?" she called.

No answer.

Then—

Slow footsteps.

Riya.

Anaya stepped back instantly.

"You?"

Riya smiled.

"Surprised?"

Anaya's eyes narrowed.

"This is your trap?"

Riya shook her head.

"No…"

"I just brought you here."

She pointed behind her.

"And he came for you."

Anaya turned—

And froze.

Kabir.

Standing at the entrance.

Breathing heavy.

Angry.

"Anaya… get out."

But Anaya didn't move.

"Why didn't you tell me you were here?" she asked.

Kabir's jaw tightened.

"Because it's dangerous."

Riya laughed softly.

"See?"

"Even now…"

"He still decides what you deserve to know."

Anaya looked at Kabir.

Confused.

Kabir stepped forward.

"Don't listen to her."

Riya interrupted instantly.

"Oh Kabir…"

"Tell her the truth then."

Silence.

Anaya turned slowly.

"What truth?"

Kabir's eyes darkened.

"Nothing."

Riya smirked.

"Really?"

She took out a file.

And threw it on the floor.

It opened.

Photos scattered.

Documents.

Names.

Anaya bent slightly.

And saw it.

Her breath stopped.

Kabir's past.

But not what she knew.

Something darker.

Business destruction.

People ruined.

A name linked to a death.

Anaya's hands trembled.

"This… is true?"

Kabir's silence was enough.

Her heart cracked slightly.

"You said you had no family…"

"But you have… THIS?"

Kabir stepped closer.

"I was protecting you from it."

Anaya stepped back.

"So you lied?"

Kabir's voice softened.

"I didn't want you to see that side of me."

Riya smiled.

"See?"

"Love always comes with lies."

Anaya looked at Kabir.

Eyes watery.

"I trusted you…"

Kabir clenched his fists.

"Anaya, listen—"

But she shook her head.

"No…"

"I need time."

Kabir froze.

"Time for what?"

But Anaya already turned away.

Walking out.

Kabir stood there.

Broken silence.

Riya whispered behind him:

"It's easy…"

"Break love…"

"…when you plant doubt."

Kabir turned sharply.

But Riya was already gone.

Night came.

Kabir stood alone in the rain.

Soaked.

Silent.

Anaya's words kept echoing.

"You lied…"

He closed his eyes.

"I did it to protect her…" he whispered.

But even he knew—

Truth still hurts.

Inside the room—

Anaya sat on the bed.

Silent.

Tears falling.

She remembered everything.

His care.

His love.

His promises.

And now…

This doubt.

She whispered softly:

"Who are you really, Kabir?"

Outside the window—

A shadow watched.

Aarav Sinha.

Smiling.

"Good…"

"Now the heart is cracked."

"And broken things…"

"…are easier to control."
