Chapter 15 - episode 15

Episode 15: The New Chapter

With Cha in custody, Seo‑ah finally moved out of the officetel and back into her apartment. But it didn't feel like home anymore. It felt like a place she had outgrown.

She started looking for a new place—something with a view, a balcony, room for her sister to visit. Ju‑hyuk, predictably, offered to help her find something. She refused, politely. This was something she wanted to do herself.

The welfare program was finally approved. The interim CEO, Park, had been replaced by a new CEO who had read Seo‑ah's interview and wanted to make "meaningful change." She was offered a permanent position as Director of Employee Strategy.

She took it.

On her first day in the new role, she walked into her office—a corner office, with windows overlooking the city—and sat behind the desk. For a moment, she just looked at the space. Ten years ago, she had been a contract worker with no security and no voice. Now she had the power to change things for everyone who came after her.

Her phone buzzed. A message from Seo‑kyung: "Album release date set. Three months. You're coming to the launch, right?"

She typed back: "I wouldn't miss it."

Another message, from Ju‑hyuk: "Dinner tonight? My place. I'm cooking."

She smiled. "You can cook?"

"I can follow a recipe. It's basically data entry."

She put her phone down and looked out the window. The city stretched below, endless and full of possibilities.

The counter in her vision was still there, but it was smaller now, less intrusive. Just the word LIVE, soft gold, barely noticeable.

She had stopped thinking about the audience. She was just living.
