Chapter 9 - Episode 9: “When the Gangster Finally Speaks His Truth”

The mansion no longer felt like a home.

It felt like a place waiting for an explosion.

A silence so deep… even breathing felt dangerous.

Rudra Rathore stood at the door.

Aanya in front of him.

Riya just a step behind her.

Three people.

One truth.

And too many emotions no one dared to name.

Rudra stepped inside slowly.

The door closed behind him.

Click.

Final.

His eyes moved first to Riya.

Cold. Controlled.

"Leave."

One word.

No explanation.

No softness.

Riya didn't move.

"I want to hear this," she said firmly.

Rudra's gaze sharpened.

"You don't get to stay."

A heavy silence.

Then Riya smiled faintly.

"Or what?"

The air dropped instantly.

Even Aanya felt it.

Danger.

Real danger.

Rudra stepped forward.

One step.

Then another.

Until he was close enough that even Riya stopped smiling properly.

"You don't test me twice," he said quietly.

Riya finally moved back.

Not fear.

Calculation.

But she left.

Slowly.

Without breaking eye contact with Aanya.

Now only two remained.

Aanya and Rudra.

Silence filled the room again.

But this time…

it was different.

Heavier.

More personal.

Aanya whispered, "Sir… I'm sorry about her—"

"Stop."

Rudra's voice cut her off instantly.

Not loud.

But firm.

Aanya froze.

Rudra looked at her.

Really looked.

No distraction.

No interruption.

Just her.

"You keep apologizing for things you didn't do," he said quietly.

Aanya lowered her gaze.

"I don't want trouble…"

Rudra stepped closer.

Slow.

Controlled.

Dangerous.

Until the distance disappeared again.

"Then why do you keep staying in my house?" he asked.

Aanya blinked.

Confused.

"I don't have anywhere else to go…"

A pause.

Silence stretched.

Then Rudra spoke again.

Lower this time.

Different.

"That's not the reason."

Aanya looked up slowly.

Their eyes met.

And something changed instantly.

The air.

The tension.

The truth.

Rudra's voice dropped even further.

"You stay… because you are already part of it."

Aanya's heartbeat stopped for a second.

"What… what does that mean?" she whispered.

Rudra didn't answer immediately.

For the first time…

he looked unsure.

Not weak.

Not confused.

Just honest.

Then he said it.

Finally.

Quietly.

"You are not just a servant here, Aanya."

A pause.

"You never were."

Aanya froze completely.

Outside the mansion window…

Riya stood in the rain.

Listening from afar.

Smiling faintly.

Because now she knew.

It wasn't just jealousy anymore.

It was confession waiting to happen.

Inside the room…

Rudra stepped back slightly.

But his eyes didn't leave her.

"And that is the problem," he added quietly.

Aanya stood still.

Shaken.

Confused.

Breathing uneven.

Because for the first time…

the ruthless gangster Rudra Rathore…

had almost said the truth.
