Chapter 34 - Episode 15: “Inside the Forgotten Lab”

The heavy door slammed behind them.

CLANG—

And suddenly, everything went silent.

Too silent.

Aanya looked around slowly.

Cold metal walls.

Old lights flickering.

Dust in the air like the place had been abandoned… or erased.

Her voice trembled.

"Where are we…?"

Rudra didn't answer immediately.

His eyes were scanning every corner.

Like he was remembering something he wished he could forget.

Finally, he spoke.

"Armaan's first base."

Aanya froze.

"So this… is real?"

Rudra nodded once.

"Yes."

A pause.

"And I thought it was destroyed."

They walked deeper inside.

Every step echoed.

On the walls… there were old screens.

Cracked monitors.

Faded data files.

And one symbol repeated everywhere:

A black circle split in half.

Aanya whispered,

"What does that symbol mean?"

Rudra's voice lowered.

"It means control."

A pause.

"And loss of control."

Suddenly—

a screen flickered ON.

A distorted recording played.

A younger Rudra.

Shaking.

Confused.

Armaan standing behind him.

Aanya's breath caught.

"Rudra…"

Rudra looked away instantly.

But he didn't stop watching.

Armaan's recorded voice echoed:

"Emotion reduces efficiency."

A pause.

"We remove it."

The younger Rudra on screen screamed—

"No!"

Then static.

Aanya stepped back.

"This is… torture…"

Rudra's jaw tightened.

"No."

A pause.

"It was training."

Aanya turned sharply.

"That's not training!"

Rudra finally looked at her.

And for the first time… his voice cracked slightly.

"It was survival."

Silence hit the room.

Heavy.

Painful.

Suddenly—

a door opened at the far end.

Slowly.

A new voice echoed.

Not Armaan.

Not Meera.

A technician voice.

Cold.

Professional.

"Subject Rudra has returned."

A pause.

"Protocol reactivation beginning."

Aanya panicked.

"What now?!"

Rudra stepped forward instantly.

"Don't move."

Lights in the lab turned ON fully.

Machines started activating by themselves.

Old systems waking up.

A large chamber revealed itself in the center.

Glass.

Metal.

And inside it—

a chair.

Aanya whispered,

"What is that…?"

Rudra's expression darkened.

"…the place I was made to forget myself."

Suddenly—

Armaan's voice returned, this time clearer than ever.

Not a recording.

Live.

"Welcome home, Rudra."

A pause.

"And welcome, Aanya."

Aanya froze.

"How does he know I'm here?!"

Rudra looked around slowly.

Then realized something terrifying.

"This whole lab…"

A pause.

"…is still online."

Aanya's voice shook.

"Meaning?"

Rudra answered quietly—

"Meaning we never escaped him."
