It had felt like the longest couple of hours as Wren and I spent time with family. My father had kept his distance for a short time. No doubt doing as an Alpha should at a social event in his pack, and socialise, but after our first dance, he, too, had found his way to our area by the firepit and found himself in deep conversation with Patrick and the two former mates of Alpha Alexander. The four were enjoying a drink together, while Jake and Grace sat talking to Wren and I. The atmosphere was relaxed. Content. Pleasant. I had not known what to expect when he discussed the plan with Patrick, but I don't think it could have gone better than this...
"Seems strange..." Grace said with a smile, as her eyes fell to me.
"How things turned out?" I offered and she nodded.
"Everything happens for a reason." I said. "Without you, I may never have met Wren."
"And I may never have found my mum." Wren joined the conversation.
