The room went silent after Takeru's suggestion about stairs.
Yuji was still staring at him.
Nobara had both hands over her face.
Both Shoko's looked thoroughly unimpressed.
Then Takeru suddenly started laughing.
"Heh…"
Everyone looked at him.
Takeru covered his mouth.
"Wait…"
He laughed again.
"I just remembered something like this!"
Yuji's eyes widened.
"You remembered something?"
Takeru nodded excitedly.
"Yeah!"
He leaned forward.
"I fought Sukuna, I think…"
Yuji froze.
"You remember Sukuna?"
"Kind of!"
Takeru rubbed his forehead.
"I remember being pretty broken afterward."
Both Shoko's exchanged a glance.
Takeru continued.
"I came to Shoko…"
He pointed toward them.
"And I kept asking 'what if' questions about going to class."
One of the Shoko's slowly raised an eyebrow.
"…What kind of questions?"
Takeru laughed.
"I don't remember all of them, but I kept saying…"
He put on a thoughtful expression.
"'What if I go to class?'"
Shoko immediately responded.
"No."
Takeru pointed at her.
"Exactly!"
Yuji started laughing.
Takeru continued.
"Then I'd ask another one."
"What if I go to class tomorrow?"
"No."
"What if I just sit in the back?"
"No."
"What if I don't participate?"
"No."
"What if I—"
"No."
Takeru burst out laughing.
"She interrupted me every single time!"
One Shoko sighed.
"Because you kept asking ridiculous questions."
Takeru laughed harder.
"I remember that!"
Yuji grinned.
"So your first memory coming back is you annoying Shoko?"
Takeru thought about it.
"…Apparently."
Nobara smiled.
"Honestly, that's pretty fitting."
Takeru suddenly became quiet.
He looked down at his hands.
"So…"
Everyone waited.
"I really did all of those things?"
Yuji nodded.
"Yeah."
Takeru smiled faintly.
"Then maybe…"
He touched his forehead.
"…I'll remember more."
Shoko nodded.
"Don't force it."
Takeru looked at her.
"Okay."
He paused.
"…What if—"
Both Shoko's immediately pointed at him.
"NO."
Takeru started laughing again.
"Yep."
He smiled.
"Definitely remember that."
