Takeru suddenly sat upright.
His eyes widened behind his sunglasses.
"I'm gonna try!"
Yuji blinked.
"Try what?"
Takeru jumped off the medical bed.
"The mall!"
Nobara's expression immediately changed.
"…No."
Takeru was already heading toward the door.
"If falling caused the amnesia, maybe falling again will undo it!"
Both Shoko's shouted at once.
"NO!"
Takeru opened the door.
"See you later!"
Yuji jumped to his feet.
"TAKERU, WAIT!"
But Takeru was already sprinting down the hallway.
"SCIENCE!"
Nobara grabbed her bag.
"That's not science!"
Yuji ran after him.
"That's absolutely not science!"
Takeru raced through the school grounds.
"I JUST NEED TO TEST THE HYPOTHESIS!"
Yuji yelled from behind him.
"YOU CAN'T TEST A HYPOTHESIS BY THROWING YOURSELF OFF A BUILDING!"
Takeru didn't slow down.
"WATCH ME!"
"THAT'S THE PROBLEM!"
A few minutes later, Takeru reached the road.
The mall was visible in the distance.
He grinned.
"Here we go!"
Yuji finally caught up and grabbed the back of Takeru's shirt.
"NOPE!"
Takeru stumbled backward.
"Hey!"
Yuji held on.
"We are not doing this!"
Takeru crossed his arms.
"But what if it works?"
Nobara arrived a moment later, completely out of breath.
"Then you'll have your memories back…"
She pointed at him.
"…and we'll have to explain to Shoko why we let you get yourself hospitalized twice."
Takeru paused.
"…Fair point."
He looked back at the mall.
"But I still want to know."
Yuji sighed.
"Then we'll figure out another way."
Takeru frowned.
"Like what?"
Yuji thought.
"Maybe…"
He glanced toward Nobara.
"We ask Shoko."
Takeru's expression fell.
"…She's gonna say no."
Nobara nodded.
"Probably."
Takeru sighed dramatically.
"Why does everyone keep saying no to me?"
Yuji smiled.
"Because you keep trying to fall off buildings."
Takeru looked at the mall one more time.
"…Fine."
He turned around.
"Back to Jujutsu High."
Yuji smiled.
"Good."
Takeru started walking.
Then quietly muttered—
"…Still think it would've worked."
Nobara heard him.
"I HEARD THAT."
