Takeru sat on the edge of the medical bed, still looking like his brain was several seconds behind the rest of him.
He slowly looked around the room.
Then down at himself.
"I'm gonna go take a shower…"
Yuji blinked.
"Are you sure you can walk?"
Takeru stood up.
He immediately swayed.
"Yep."
Nobara raised an eyebrow.
"You almost fell over."
"I was testing gravity."
"You're still dizzy."
"I know."
Takeru took another step.
He wobbled again, but caught himself against the wall.
"…Okay, gravity is winning."
Both Shoko's watched him carefully.
"Take it slowly."
Takeru nodded.
"Got it."
He began walking toward the door.
One step.
Two steps.
Three.
He stopped.
"Why does the hallway look tilted?"
Yuji laughed.
"It isn't."
"I don't believe you."
Takeru continued down the hallway, one hand occasionally touching the wall for balance.
"I've fought gods…"
He took another careful step.
"I've fought Sukuna…"
Another step.
"I've survived alternate timelines…"
He paused.
"And I'm being defeated by walking."
Nobara called after him.
"Don't fall!"
Takeru raised a hand.
"I won't!"
He took another step.
Wobble.
"…Probably."
Yuji shook his head.
"He's definitely still Takeru."
Takeru eventually made it to the dorms.
He entered his room and grabbed a towel and some clean clothes.
Before heading toward the showers, he looked at himself in the mirror.
His hair was messy.
His sunglasses were slightly crooked.
And he still looked a little woozy.
Takeru stared at his reflection.
"…You know what?"
He fixed his sunglasses.
"I look terrible."
He paused.
"Actually…"
He smiled.
"I look like someone who just got hit by a truck."
He thought about that for a second.
"…Twice."
Takeru shook his head.
"Shower."
He headed toward the bathroom.
At least this time, he wasn't planning to jump off anything.
