Chapter 550 - Chapter 1: The Memories Are Back

Two days later, Takeru's eyes slowly opened.

The ceiling above him was familiar.

The medical room.

He blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Then suddenly, memories came rushing back.

The beach.

Yuji.

Nobara.

The alternate timelines.

The Culling Game.

Kenjaku.

The god-guy.

Ren.

The mall.

Falling.

And then...

everything.

Takeru's eyes widened.

"…Oh."

He slowly sat up.

Immediately, the entire room spun.

"WHOA."

Takeru grabbed the side of the bed.

"Okay…"

He blinked rapidly.

"Why is the room moving?"

One of the Shoko's looked over.

"The room isn't moving."

Takeru stared at her.

"It definitely is."

Yuji, who had been sitting nearby, suddenly jumped up.

"TAKERU!"

Takeru turned toward him.

Or at least, attempted to.

His head wobbled slightly.

"Yuji!"

Yuji's face lit up.

"You remember?!"

Takeru grinned.

"Yeah!"

He tried to stand.

WOBBLE.

He immediately grabbed the bed.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa…"

Nobara rushed over.

"Don't stand up!"

Takeru looked at her.

"Nobara!"

She smiled.

"You remember me too?"

"Of course!"

Takeru suddenly laughed.

"I remember everything!"

Yuji grinned.

"That's great!"

Takeru nodded enthusiastically.

Then the room spun again.

"...Except my balance."

He slowly sat back down.

One Shoko examined him.

"Dizziness?"

"Very."

"Headache?"

"No."

"Nausea?"

"A little."

"Confusion?"

Takeru thought.

"Not really."

He paused.

"Wait."

He looked at Yuji.

"Why does everything feel like I'm drunk?"

Yuji stared at him.

"Are you?"

Takeru looked offended.

"No!"

Nobara crossed her arms.

"You sure?"

"Yes!"

Takeru tried standing again.

He immediately swayed sideways.

"…Okay, I understand why you asked."

Yuji started laughing.

"You look completely wasted!"

Takeru pointed at him.

"I am not drunk!"

He paused.

"…I think."

Both Shoko's exchanged amused looks.

"You're not drunk."

Takeru sighed in relief.

"Good."

He leaned back against the bed.

"So…"

He looked around.

"My memories are back."

Yuji nodded.

"Yep."

Takeru smiled.

"That's good."

Then he remembered something.

His expression slowly changed.

"…Wait."

He looked toward Yuji.

"Did I really jump off that mall again?"

Yuji stared at him.

"Yep."

Takeru covered his face.

"…I am never telling anyone about this."

Nobara laughed.

"Too late."

Takeru groaned.

"I hate past me."

One Shoko looked at him.

"Past you was unconscious. Current you is dizzy."

Takeru nodded solemnly.

"Fair."

He looked at his sunglasses on the table.

"Can I have those?"

Nobara handed them over.

Takeru put them on.

He smiled.

"Yep."

He leaned back.

"I'm back."
