The battle continued.
Curses were being thrown through buildings.
Sorcerers were exchanging techniques.
Yuji was currently punching something that looked like it had been assembled from six different animals.
And Takeru?
Takeru was having a problem.
A very annoying problem.
He suddenly stopped.
Yuji looked over.
"Takeru?"
Takeru's hand went to his face.
"…My eyes hurt."
Yuta immediately turned toward him.
"What?"
Takeru squeezed his eyes shut.
"The Six Eyes."
He rubbed his forehead.
"I've been using them too much."
Yuji frowned.
"But you have your sunglasses off."
Takeru immediately put them back on.
"I know."
He sighed.
"I can't leave them off anymore."
Gojo, who was standing nearby, glanced over.
"Welcome to the club."
Takeru looked at him.
"You too?"
Gojo touched his blindfold.
"I've been keeping mine on."
The other Gojo nodded.
"Same."
Takeru looked between them.
"So none of us can take our eye coverings off right now."
"Pretty much."
Takeru sighed.
"This is inconvenient."
Yuji stared at all three of them.
"You're fighting an army of curses and your biggest problem is sunglasses?"
Takeru nodded.
"Yes."
Gojo raised a finger.
"Technically, mine is a blindfold."
The other Gojo nodded.
"Important distinction."
Yuji looked exhausted.
"I hate this family."
A curse suddenly charged.
Takeru didn't even look directly at it.
He tilted his head.
SHING!
A slash passed inches from his face.
Takeru sighed.
"Can we finish this before my eyes get worse?"
Yuji grinned.
"Sure!"
He charged.
BOOM!
Takeru followed.
Even with the sunglasses on, he could still see cursed energy.
But he was deliberately limiting how much information reached his eyes.
No unnecessary scanning.
No staring into techniques.
No constantly analyzing every cursed-energy signature.
Just enough.
Takeru dodged a curse.
"Okay…"
He punched it.
BOOM!
"…I can still fight."
Another curse attacked from behind.
Yuta intercepted it.
SLASH!
"Got it!"
Takeru gave him a thumbs up.
"Thanks!"
Then something enormous appeared.
A gigantic cursed spirit emerged from the smoke.
It towered over the surrounding buildings.
Everyone looked up.
Yuji swallowed.
"…That's big."
Takeru adjusted his sunglasses.
"Yep."
Gojo sighed.
"Guess we're doing this."
Both Gojo's stood beside Takeru.
None of them removed their blindfolds.
Takeru looked at them.
"Ready?"
"Yep."
"Yep."
Takeru smiled.
"Then let's do it blind."
Yuji stared.
"You literally have the Six Eyes."
Takeru shrugged.
"Figure of speech."
The three Gojo's stepped forward.
The curse roared.
BOOOOOOM!
The shockwave tore through the street.
Takeru slid backward.
His sunglasses nearly flew off.
He caught them.
"…Absolutely not."
He put them back on.
"My eyes are staying protected."
Gojo laughed.
"Smart."
The other Gojo nodded.
"We're keeping ours on too."
Takeru cracked his knuckles.
"Then we fight with what we have."
Yuji charged past them.
"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!"
Takeru smiled.
"Yep."
The battle continued.
But somewhere beyond the smoke...
Sukuna Number Four watched them.
His eyes narrowed.
He had noticed.
The Gojo's weren't removing their blindfolds.
And Takeru wasn't removing his sunglasses.
Sukuna smiled.
"…So even the Six Eyes have limits."
Takeru suddenly looked toward him.
Even from miles away.
He couldn't see Sukuna clearly.
But he could feel him.
Takeru's smile faded.
"…He noticed."
Yuji looked back.
"Noticed what?"
Takeru adjusted his sunglasses.
"Our weakness."
He paused.
Then grinned.
"Good."
Yuji blinked.
"Good?"
"Means he thinks it's a weakness."
Takeru cracked his neck.
"Let's show him why it isn't."
