"I told you, this is my problem, and I need to solve it myself!" Laura Thorne's emotions were in turmoil and starting to spiral. "Why did you follow me?"
"I was worried about you," Quincy Shaw replied, giving the same answer as before.
A thought suddenly struck Laura Thorne. She looked up at him. "When did you get here?"
Quincy Shaw answered truthfully. "Last night, at ten."
His answer clearly unnerved Laura Thorne.
'He arrived at ten last night, but he waited until now to appear before me...'
"Did you... Did you see Summer Thorne?" Laura Thorne asked, her voice trembling. "What did she tell you?"
In that moment, the fear in Laura Thorne's heart was plain for anyone to see.
Quincy Shaw didn't know what she was afraid of, nor did he want to pry. He simply said, "She said she hopes our family of three will be happy."
That answer clearly stunned Laura Thorne. For a moment, she was too taken aback to respond. "What?"
